According to patch notes:

Dungeons, minidungeons, jumping puzzles, WvW camps, and towers now drop Empyreal Fragments in addition to their regular loot, which can only be earned once per day per location.

It doesn’t say anything about being limited to level.

I have a lvl 51 that did Weyandts revenge and Urmaugs jumping puzzle in Lions arch and no Empyreal fragments.

I did Urmaugs jumping puzzle with a lvl 32 and no Empyreal fragments.

Are low levels supposed to be receiving Empyreal Fragments?

Most likely they are not. As you wouldn’t be crafting a level 80 ascended item on a level 51.

These ascended weapons are ArenaNets idea of end-game content. Most likely intended for you to not get them on a low level.

You could craft exotic 80 equipment (endgame until last update) on a lvl 20 character without any problem. And as far as I can tell, if you get the component, he can craft ascended too. So only getting the raw component would be level gated. Possible, but counterintuitive, I think (remember those rewards are account bound, so no risk of farming them by creating lvl 1 chars).

Agreed, I have several lowbies (pre-scroll) that each have at least one 400 crafting profession learned. I wasn’t aware that there was (or should be) a level requirement for these JP fragments.

If a JP in Queensdale (1-15 zone) has a chest then the crafting mats shouldn’t really scale to the character level. Does anyone have confirmation?

I got a couple fragments yesterday from chest in the Svanir cave near the start of the Maw and the Shaman’s Rookery JP. I was on a level 80 character but still, that’s about as low as you can get in the zone.

Yeah, level 80’s are fine but I’ve not seen any on lower levels. Anyone got success/failure to get an idea of where the cutoff might be?
