Life Stealing Has the opposite effect on Enemies
Also, this seems to be more noticeable the more scaled down you are (IE: 1-15 areas)
Just add it to the other 100+ mostly class-or-game-breaking Necro bugs that aren’t getting fixed any time in the foreseeable future.
can someone test this with other aoe spells from other classes, like ele? maybe they are all bugged lol?
Huhu…. I’ve been using wells for a while now, and I haven’t noticed this. I saw mobs healing themselves but I saw no green numbers around them.
Wow! Do we have a skill that isn’t broken?
I can confirm that this does not happen with my ele’s AoE skills.

Notes:
- Bold means healing, normal means damage.
- Tested with a lvl 80 fully exotic necro.
- Vampiric vs Vampiric Rituals: vampiric also triggers when hitting normally, letting you know which is which.
- The heal doesn’t seem to go higher than 12/pulse which is reached around level 15.
- Vampiric Rituals is much more buggy, starting to heal monsters around level 45 and healing for up to 10 (which at level 2 is something like 15% of a monster’s health).
- This bug doesn’t affect only wells, but since vampiric’s heal is low (2 at most) and normal attacks deal much higher damages it is barely noticeable.
Can someone from Anet please recognize this as a legitimate and serious issue?
This issue needs some attention, it is getting more viewers on Reddit than here.
While we are at it, when are any of the bugs listed here;

The issue underscores the trial and tribulations of the Necromancer Profession.
Looking at Neck’s table, it looks like a good old signed integer issue.
This means that a numeric variable in the code can be both positive or negative, and the downscale code ends up reducing it so far rolls over from positive (doing damage) to negative (giving health).
This with the added insult of it apparently doing a better job at healing the mob than it ever did healing us.
We are getting “confirmed bugs” on posts that occurred a week after this, and still no recognition about this bug from Anet.
HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO LET THIS GO ON?
Why has there been no response from anet on this issue yet? It has been 2 weeks.
