Long load times after latest patch
i’m also loading alot slower with the latest patch. maybe 1-2 mins now acutally to sit at the loading screen waiting to way point to places instead of 15-30 seconds
I’m also experiencing this. Waypointing to Trader’s Forum in Lion’s Arch took 3-4 times longer instead of 3 seconds after the patch.
Who cares, Anet has their money, whats a few seconds of your time.
I also experienced this, and I got it in tPvP of all places. This was horrible, now not only do i have to wait for the respawn timer, but i also must wait for this long load time while team fights continue. this is really starting to effect our play and needs to be fixed ASAP.
Champion Shadow
Better Luck Next Time [BLNT]-Sea of Sorrows
Seems to be taking between 25-50% longer to get in to zones for me at the moment.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1jw4pd/why_have_my_load_times_doubled/ This showed up on reddit, FYI.
I am having the same problem. Please fix this.
It seems like it is mainly people who have an SSD. I have one and am getting much longer load times. Mostly in fractals.
I have an SSD and have noticed longer load times as well.
I should probably have mentioned that I have an SSD as well.
I have the same problem whether entering personal story of spvp maps. And it all started since this patch. I guess it has to do with that Effect Improvement
I can confirm this as well. Bought a new SSD in June and measured how long LA took to load back then. Took about 6-8 seconds for the “main” WPs (e.g. the one near the bank/mystic forge), which take the longest to load for me.
Never felt like load times increased until the queen’s jubilee story update where things took a noticeable turn for the worse (not only in LA).
Since i measured the MF/Bank WP, that’s the only one I have accurate data for.
Before patch: 6-8 seconds
After Patch: 15-20 seconds.
It really changed right with the patch and I’m absolutely sure it’s not my PC. Everything else still runs just fine and disk benchamrks show no decrease in performance.
Friend and I both on High End SSD so this is not the first time happened. I remember back in October or in Beta. This issue happened before.
My load times have doubled at least since the patch, this is on an ssd as well.
SSD and same issue.
SSD and same issue.
Another SSD user with noticeably longer loading times now than before the patch
Is the game not your comp, god knows what they did in the latest patch to “optimize” the game.
Bump – loading screens like twice as long as pre-patch. I have an SSD if that matters…
The very last patch states :
“Performance : Fixed an effect loading bug”
But for me it’s even worse than before.
I don’t have and SSD by the way but a regular SATA HDD.
Did you check your graphics settings? The patch set all my graphics to high, which makes it take longer to load. One of the settings has a huge impact. Texture detail maybe.

facepalm
now on the lowest settings loading is 2 times longer than before the patch with high quality settings
P.S. same story, good perfomance pc with SSD. waiting for the fix

I can only speak for my self but I’m an enthusiast and got a high-end PC; anything was on the highest settings anyway.
But thanks for the idea! Hope this gets fixed soon.
I have the same (though no quantifiable data, I’m afraid), normal SATA HDD. Settings didn’t change between pre- and post-patch, so that’s not the culprit here.
Sword Of Justice – Gunnar’s Hold
I have a brand new PC running perfectly on high settings at 75FPS and Loading Screen is still not fixed. I dunno what they did with the “bug” that appeared but it’s still there.
I wonder why it popped up so “late” for you guys? I have that since June…
I thought its my SSD cause its over 50% full, also Intel SSD Optimizer didnt help my SSD (Intel SSD 520 Series 120GB)

as you can see everyone has the issue, leave your drive alone :d
the loading was short on any settings until the patch
Yep my loads are feeling a little longer too, it’s frustrating. I just recently got an SSD and was super excited to get shorter loading times and then this happens typical!

I tried. No luck. I downgraded nearly all settings (wheras my comp’ can finely render the game in full high settings, as i was playing until today), and even with lower settings, the loading is still way more long than before.
To be noticed : i have the feeling that the loading is in two part. Loading screen on then i can hear the music but loading screen still on, and only after 10-20 more seconds, the loading screen vanishes.
Same thing happens to me as well. (SSD)
Makes everything very, very tedious. I really hope this is fixed soon.
My load times have also increased significantly and it’s especially annoying in pvp when you have to wait for the loading screen while a team fight is in progress. I have a regular HDD.
Bug still exists for me after the latest hotfix.
Same problem here, also with SSD. PC load times feel like I have gone back in time 5 years!
Actually the long loading bug is back… takes forever!

This has nothing to do with computer. Its the game or the server.
Happens to me too. At least 35 seconds to enter Lions Arch with an SSD.
Usually took less than 10 seconds.
well i did spot a post on reddit about it and a guy there posted something that might help you out.
go to: “C:\users\xxxxxx\appdata\local\temp\” and locate a folder “gw2cache-{xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxxx}” and delete it. the game should not be running when you do that.
and i have to say, there is a difference now.. loading times are shorter.
I have an OCZ Synapse 64GB and before, rolling Swamp in FotM would take around 5 seconds per try. Now it seems to take 10-15s, it’s very painful having to roll levels now. I tried deleting local.dat in My Documents but it didn’t make much of a difference. Before it was about 40MB and now it’s 2MB, but the load times are still very long.
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.

Yeah, I just want to confirm I am still having the same long load times after this patch.
The same here. SSD. Lions Arch > 30s load time. Last week it was about 10s. Pvp Lobby also loads slowly. I think all zones are affected.
..Anet?
SSD too, this horrible Anet please fix
One more thing to add to the list of “it isn’t broke, lets break it”.
I get the much longer load times WITHOUT an SSD. so do friends, so it’s not just SSDs.
No SSD here and my load times have increased significantly as well.
hey i come here and read entire thread waiting for my 1st log of the day up, L.A. of course. 3 minutes already.
edit: 6 minutes now, less puffy gem store stuff and fix you game.

Both my computer and my wife’s computer have significantly longer load times as well. I have an SSD and she has a 7200 rpm HDD… go back to the 4 week release schedule so you have time to ensure Quality Control before releasing. Please.
Same issue here. Thank you for reading this thread

Both me and my Fiancé have Intel 520 SSD’s and the load times have significantly increased, I can’t imagine what it’s like on a spinner.
