There seems to be a loottable bug for giants. They do not drop Giant Eyes. Those only come from Heavy Moldry Bags, and gifts from Mawdrey and Star of generosity.
Since there is no logical reason for it, I must consider this a bug.

It’s no bug. Giant Eyes have been confirmed that they are not a drop.

They’re only looted (extremely rarely) from Heavy Bags.

I do see where you’re coming from though, due to the incredible rarity of these items and what they can craft, they should have a slightly higher chance to drop from mobs/kills as opposed to ridiculous RNG.

I wish this was a bug and Giant eyes were meant to drop somewhere other than Heavy Moldy Bags. I have gotten 2 out of bags since launch. I always thought it was odd that every other crafting material in the game also drops off mobs directly where this one does not.

The low drop rate would make a bit more sense if they dropped from all types of moldy bags.

If they are not eyes of giants, they should drop from other giant creatures, such as eye of zhaitan or dragons.

In the wiki it was believed that the high level basilisks (L64’s) in Mount Maelstrom dropped these, however after a lot of effort for no gain, this was debunked.
