Also, if you see an event stalled you can report it using the in-game tool (Game menu [gear icon on top] > Support > Report a bug). That tool will provide devs a lot more info about an issue. Or if you prefer you can report here but stalled events are occasional and the chances of someone else having the same issue are minimal.
Edit: Oops, I just noticed it’s about a Personal Story step and not a Dynamic Event. Even so my advice still applies but posting it here with more details about what’s going on could help.

Thanks for responding… Waited 2 days now, is the GW2 support really bad? Can’t really continue without doing this quest.
They can take a while to reply yes. But if your ticket gets no reply for more than 3 days you can post on https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/GW2-Tickets-for-Review-3-days-older-2. That thread is constantly checked and your ticket may get reviewed.
Oh just a note: reports sent through the in-game tool won’t get a reply, as the tool itself tells you. The ticket I mean is Support ticket that can be sent through http://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new (in case it wasn’t what you did).
