As you can see in the pic i put together, i bought 2 gold worth of influence, started researching politics 2, logged off for the night, was apparently refunded the 1,000 for some reason, and now i don’t have the influence or the researched upgraded.

I’ve had this happen to me 2-3 weeks ago, i don’t know if it was fixed through an update/resets or developer involvement back then or not, but it fixed itself. While it shows that it isn’t being researched it might still be being researched. When it fixed itself for me the time that it showed it wasn’t being researched was subtracted from the time remaining as if it was queue all along. Try logging out, changing characters to see if that will fix the problem.
