So it took me months to get the Prototype Fractal Capacitor, I got it just before the wardrobe path. After playing some more I got the Gift of Ascension just today.
When I tried to make the Gift of Ascension (Ascended) It wouldn’t work in the Mystic forge (40 Crystals, 1 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence, 1 Gift of Ascension and the Fractal Capacitor).
I then checked everything and apperantly my Fractals Capacitor wasn’t a Capacitor but the Advanced Spinal Blades with the Capacitor skin.
After checking everything I couldn’t find it. Now.. i’m pretty sure I didn’t salvage it or destroy it.. So I guess it must have vanished when the update came live..
I’m so down about losing it after spending so much time getting it, is there a way this was a bugg and I could get it back?
Cuzz i’m definetly not spending so much time on getting it again!

Did you look in your full Wardrobe (at the Bank) and check if the skin is unlocked? If it is, the Blades/Capacitor should be available ..and somewhere in inventory. That would also help if you need to contact CS about it. (Unless, of course, you did salvage or destroy it).

Remember, as well, that many items had a name change. Not sure about your particular missing item.

After re-reading your post, I am a bit confused. You say you tried to put your Fractal Capacitor in the Mystic Forge in a recipe to make the Gift of Ascension.

Then, found out your Capacitor wasn’t a Fractal Capacitor, but an Advanced Spinal Blades. Are you saying you transmuted the Skin of the Fractal Capacitor onto your Advanced Spinal Blades back item? If you did, I think you would need a Transmutation Splitter to split the two items back apart.

I tried making the capacitor ascended but i need the exotic capacitor to do this. But i noticed that it was a spinal blade with the capacitor skin on it and cant find my exotic capcitor. Splitter is not an option since the wardrobe patch changed them to charges..

Well, if you transmuted the Spinal Blades with the skin of the Capacitor, you would have lost the Capacitor.

The only way to get it back is a Splitter, and yes, they have been removed from the Gem Store.

Thanks but im pretty sure i didn`t transmute it before the patch.. i did get the skin in wardrobe bank but never destroyed or salvaged it..
But what is CS?

Except splitters do not perform their previous function anymore. Double clicking on one just gives you transmutation charges.

Perhaps, those sent be CS have a right-click function. I am not sure, just read about others getting them from CS to alleviate their problem, and they were pleased with the outcome. /shrug
