Q:

I was in the step of my story to glide by Scout Acan, but it bugged out. I also tried to log out and log back in but it did not work. Not only that, but the npc was no longer showing on my map.

So I closed out the chapter to see if reopening it fixed the problem, but I lost every step I had accomplished up to that point.

What a mess Anet. Why do we lose our spot in a story line if it bugs out and we have to see about fixing it by closing chapter then reopening it?

Now I am borked and have to start all over again. All because that Scout Acan bugged out on me.

It tells you that you may lose progress. However this is slightly bugged. Here is my rather not helpful story about this. If you fly near that camp you trigger the dialogue. Then you lose prompts on what to do next. Then I remember running around trying to figure out what to do and eventually I figured it out… Then I felt dumb because it was rather evident after I figured it out. But I can’t remember what it was that seemed bugged and where you had to go.

Thanks for your insight. However, I was aware of the loss of the progress when I changed up the stories, after all it tells you right there on the page in bold letters.

But, my issue with bugged content is why do we the players have to jump through hoops just to get something to work correctly when it is the responsibility of the developers to make sure it works in the first place?

In many games if you abandon a quest, you can go back and pick it back up again and try again. This usually works in those instances, but it should not be such a frustrating experience for these story lines. But then again, most of those situations are single episodes and not an entire story line of quests.

Kinda begs the question.

I know I have to start this segment over…I am just NOT happy over the poor setup designed into these types of story bugs.
