Lots of computer crashes under MacOS Sierra

Hey all,

since my upgrade of my iMac to the newest MacOS Sierra, I experience lots of computer crashes while playing GW2 (with the Mac Beta Client). It started right with that upgrade before I “just” had some game crashes, but never a whole computer crash, and not that often (between 20mins and 1 hour between).
Alas I don’t know if it’s the fault from GW or some other application combination on my Mac…
Does anybody else have such crashes or am I alone with this problem?

Regards,
Andreas

I have had the same issue immediately after installing Sierra. Crashes happen randomly during normal gameplay – I have not identified any trigger actions on my end. Assume it is something my MacBook is doing in the background.

Been having crashes (the machine restarts) caused by GW2 since upgrading my MacBook Pro to macOS Sierra as well. Happened in PvP the day after Sierra’s launch, hadn’t happened again until today during the Tequatl event. Could understand it occurred in the moment I switched weapons on my Warrior during the fight today.
The native macOS client can’t come soon enough…

Still happening to me as well. I reached out to Tech Support and got a standard “is it just your client on the Mac” response that was absolutely useless. Has anyone found anything that helps yet?

Turn all your graphics settings to the minimum. Yes, it is kittened, but whenever there is major action (everyone rushing forward in a boss event to get a chest say) it causes an extra drain spike and …. boom.

Tried that too, but didn’t help. Increasing my computers memory from 4 to 12 GB helped more. Now I just crash once a week.
Support answered me that this is a bug due to an incompatibility from the Mac port via Cider and MacOS Sierra.

Hope the new Mac client will come soon!
