Low frame rates
have you changed anything as of late like firewall settings add a new program ? using cate5 cable ? does the game have full across via windows firewall settings too ?? are you using steam ?? do you stream music while playing ? use chat apps while playing could be a number of things giving your problems . and while you got 100mbs whats the up and down speeds do you have wifi on when you play ???
Even on a friends pc which is a beast he gets some low frames at times. The game isnt known for its amazing optimisation
Has anyone noticed frame rate drops since the updates a couple of days ago? When I log in the frame rates are somewhat normal then about 10 minutes into the game the frame rates drop to single digits. Other people were commenting about low frame rates in the game yesterday.
I doubt it’s my system because I run an AMD FX 8150 (8 core 3.6Ghz) liquid cooled with 24GB of ram, NVidia GeForce GTX 1060 w/6GB and a 100Mbps connection.
same here
Had the same issue, AMD 8350 16GB RAM 980ti, was barely hitting 40 FPS or lower.
Just upgraded to a AMD 1800x ankitten ow hitting 60-90 fps.
I think it might just be that the FX has really bad single core performance. Id personally suggest getting a ryzen 5, the FX is really old.

Umm, not going to happen. Got lots of other stuff going on that matters more than changing a processor/system for a game. Stuff like hail damaged cars/house and other homeowner type stuff. The game was running fine before the updates over the last week.

Nothing changed that would affect this. I’m a computer tech IRL and have checked everything on my side.

ok and so not sure if you been reading but i notice they got problems with your video cards leads me to wonder is it the vendors that make the -problem or the software writers that make the problems .
and since your comp tech get a load of this i got the fx 8350 4.0 no overclocking dual air cooled with cooler master 95 cfm fans and msi gfx 960 4 gig video card . and places like la and rata sum . when busy i drop to 40 fps . but yet in the world maps i hit 90 to 100 fps . and in wow i easy get 110 fps if am not in stormwind or one of the major towns . oh and my memory is 32 gigs . and have given thoughts if i was to upgrade my fx8350 cpu. with no overclocking
even tho am not a fan of water cooling . i would go with amd AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7 GHz Socket AM3+ 220W FD9590FHHKWOF Desktop Processor – Black Edition

Not everyone can go out and purchase new expensive hardware just for a game. I just bought this graphics card back in December. As previously stated the issue just started this week with the updates. Everything was working fine before. During peak hours this week the frame rates drop in a few minutes. The later in the night it takes longer to drop. I went 30 minutes in the early morning hours before the frame rates dropped. Other apps such as streaming have no problems. It has to be an issue related to the updates or something server side. When the frame rates drop to single digits the game is basically unplayable because it gives me a headache.
Just as a test of my network connection I just ran a speed test while the game is running and with the load of the game I’m getting 80Mbps down/21Mbps up.

Including automatic windows and/or driver updates?
There are always a few people experiencing low frames or high ping right after an update. Enough of such issues turn out to be coincidental to the update that it’s difficult to state outright that the update is the cause. Sometimes, there’s an existing issue which has a mild impact; the update further exposes the issue, giving the appearance of a causal connection.
That doesn’t mean this is happening in your situation. It does mean it’s really difficult to state outright that “issue immediately after an update” translates to “update causes the issue.”
As always, your best bet is working with ANet Support, including generating and sharing log files. This might not do the trick, in which case you’re left with the other amateurs and semi-professionals on the forums. Some of our suggestions will be brilliant, but only some; a lot will seem daft.
Still, it’s worth double-checking the obvious stuff, if only because it’s often easy to do so.
Good luck and please keep us posted with what you find out.

I haven’t changed anything, my connection is solid, like your’s, and my framerate as well as connection to the game is all over the place or can’t login.

I hate to say it, but years of tech support make me aware that fancier systems like these liquid cooled deals, etc, are more prone to unusual problems than the simpler, more boring ones. I’d suggest y’all check that the hardware is doing what it should, cooling as it should, etc.
The other thing is that connectivity is like the roads through your city, not like the highway: there are lots of paths, and a problem on some random road might cause only some services to have problems.
https://www.pingplotter.com/fix-your-network is a good guide to tracking down if there is something on the path between you and anet — or at the anet server end — causing network issues.
It’s possible that the problem is some node that is only used on the way to and from anet, not for most of the other stuff you do on the Internet, just because it happens to be out of the way of most of your stuff.
