Hello gw2 forum mods,

I hope at some point this will reach any of the dev.team, because it is a problem that needs solving.

For starters: I have the epic version of the game (dunno the actual name of the pack, but it includes the ultimate ability/skill “Mistfire Wolf”).
For seconds: I have multiple lvl80 characters and over 1800h in the game, so I know my way around.
For thirds: the bug I am reporting here I haven’t encountered prior to last night’s update (in case this post is not timestamped, it’s the 9-9-2014 update).

Here we go:
I made a new character, just because I wanted one. It is currently level 22, but was level 21 when I noticed this bug.
I was in WvW in our Borderlands map helping to build a normal flame ram, which I then manned to take down a tower’s gate.
While manning the ram I noticed the 3rd utility slot (skill 9) was suddenly blank (not unlocked at level 21 yet) but it did have that little arrow above it. So did my ultimate skill (skill 0).
So naturally I clicked on both arrows and selected a skill (in case of the ultimate this was Mistfire Wolf, because other ult.skills could not have been unlocked yet at this level).
Well both slots got a skill equipped even after I left the ram. I can also use both skills.
I still have them equipped + they can be used outside of WvW.
I cannot currently un-equip them or swap them for other skills.
I have not tried to re-man any siege weapon to un-equip them thus far.
I feel like this is cheating @ the level my character currently is and I know I will probably use the skills, when necessary, without thinking about the “bug-abuse” at that moment.

I hope you can fix this bug without deleting my character and/or banning my account for bug-abusing, untill I can re-pick these skills at the appropriate levels.

I heard players talking in map chat shortly after the patch came out that there is a bug where, under the new leveling system, even if a character has not reached the new level required to unlock the elite skill, if the player has any elites unlocked (like mistfire wolf) players can use their elite skill while holding a bundle.

That is what is happening here:

• Mistfire Wolf elite skill is unlocked due to the deluxe/heroic edition
• Elite skill is not unlocked on the character yet due to low level
• Player picks up a bundle and are able to then select and use the Mistfire Wolf elite skill
  (though other elites can be used if they were unlocked prior to the 9-9 feature patch, but have had their elite skill re-locked off due to not yet meeting the newly imposed level requirement to unlock their elite skill)

Even shorter summary:

• unlocked elite skills can be used prior to the unlocking of the elite skill slot while a player is holding a bundle

Your post seems to show that the bug also allows players to ‘illegally’ equip unlocked skills in their utility slot 3 (default: 9 key) in addition to the elite slot (default: 0 key) and have these skills persist even while no longer holding the bundle.

yeah like that. except not holding a bundle, but manning a fully built siege engine.
and it also applies to the 3rd utility slot.

But in general: exactly like what you wrote.

It seems that those siege and other stationary weapons that change your skillbar/remove your skillbar are classified as bundles as well.
