Guild Wars 2

So when the 6/23 patch build came out, i logged off to start updating. When i started the app, the icon shows that it is running, however the window is not showing up. I right clicked, and hit show all windows just to mouse over an invisible blue window that isn’t showing up on the computer screen. Any ideas on this mac issue?

Same thing happening to me… Launcher doesn’t open, only an icon appears in dock.
It was happening to me a month or two ago and I solved it with the help of GW2 support team. So I suggest you send a support ticket

I really really really want those white wings and now I probably won’t be able to get them…

And also while I was still able to launch GW2 and play it today it has crashed 2 times.

do you recall how you fixed it? This is what is happening to me all i get is an icon no window.

Yep. Happening here too. Tried reinstalling the game as it fixed it last time it happened to me. But not this time.

I should also mention that i have repaired my utility disk/disk permissions, restarted the computer, and tried reinstalling only to find no progress on the issue. I have sent a ticket in and waiting for mail.

This isn’t much of a work-around or a fix. But if you just let the client sit there invisible for a while and ignore it. EVENTUALLY it will pop up. Eventually. It took mine between 10-20 minutes to finally do it though.

I am having the same issue. Activity monitor shows the program is running but nothing is happening.

I’ve had this happen on and off as well. For me I’ve gone to activity monitor and forced quit and either logged out as user then back in or restarted. This normally fixes it for me.

I have tried just waiting and the window will not come up (left it for at least and hour) and logging off/restarting doesn’t fix it for me unfortunately.

I suggest you contact support. Make sure you make it clear in your ticket you are a Mac customer. There is a drop down menu that allows you to select your OS but I’d suggest mentioning it in the text of the ticket as well. I suggest this because they once sent me instructions to install some .exe files even though I had told them I was on Mac.

I did what Excludee said and left the client running. Eventually the window did show up, not sure how long it took since I came back to check it this morning.

I left it running for about 2 hours but i had to close it because my system started freezing/hanging which I’m assuming its caused by the client.

I am playing on a RiMac5k. Would it be advisable to reinstall the entire client?

I also have tried both recommended solutions which did not resolve the problem:
1. to remove gw2 folder under application support
2. run gw2 repair with terminal

same here ……

I’m having the same issue since yesterday. I’d love to know if anyone has gotten a fix yet..

I decided to reinstalled gw2. so far so good as the launcher pops up now

Edit: reinstalling the game did the trick! game is now playable for me
