Just noticed as I was going through the Account Wardrobe:
Having the Mad Memoires: Complete Edition back item skin unlocked does not unlock the original Mad Memoires skin, despite being a “Skin progression” item as mentioned in the patch notes. Probably due to it being a weird craft/quest progression item, instead of just crafted.

Items that have gone through skin progression…will unlock all the skins in their direct progression line

I am not 100% sure those were Skin Progressions. You did a quest, and received the item. In both cases.

The skin progression items were used in recipes, so that may be the difference. (You needed a previous item to create the next item in the progression.)

If that were the case that unlock is just for people who have mad king but not complete edition. That sucks.
