Just a suggestion but may be worth checking with your guild member that they don’t have 10 or more emails sitting in their ingame mailbox, if so tell them to delete a few and your mails should start to show up in the order sent.
This is an old email limit issue that new players may not have known about, hope this helps while waiting on support to respond. Emails over the 10 limit are stacked by the server.

While reading this thread, I was going to recommend trying the same thing that Breeze mentions. If that doesn’t do the trick, then please do reach out to our support team using the tips on the stick threads (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/FAQ-and-Sticky-Threads).
The OP said the friend receives mail from others, so I assumed he/she didn’t have a full mailbox.
I’m sure the CS Team will assist in any way they can. =)
