Q:
Mail bug? Sending Items from inventory...
I concur this bug. Last night I was sending materials to a friend so that he can make me an Orichalcum ring. The situation unfolded exactly as described by illeah. I lost 15 Ori ingots, 5 globs of ectoplasm and 5 ruby orbs. I think the system should not randomly put a recipient name in the address box like this.
Oy. I had no idea that was happening since the easiest way I’ve found to mail is to right click the name in chat or in the guild roster and click Mail To. Each and every time. I don’t even try to type the name in the box, given how long and elaborate names can be in this game.
Anyway, until they fix it, I suggest doing it the way I just described, and always flicking a glance over the To line before hitting Send.
I guess this has happened to me a couple of times.
One time I was sending some 12-slot bags to a guildie, mailed & he didn’t recieve them. On this occasion I put a second set in the guild bank, but thats 1 set of bags gone missing.
Another time was when I was making some weapons for my gf’s character. These were one 1-H sword & axe and a 2-H greatsword. Now these weren’t exoctics, but they were rare’s. Not as expensive but still quite a lot of items. The 1-H weapons mailed fine, but the first 2-H greatsword didn’t get through, so I made another one & sent that. This didn’t arrive either. So that’s two 2-H Rare Greatswords (Mithril) lost.
So i agree this needs to be looked at.

i don’t know if it’s related but once i tried to whisper a guy, right clicked his name in chat→whisper and another name appeared in the /whisper field. tried friending him and the same thing happened.
