Guild Wars 2

I just bought the Maize Balm Recipe and went to learn it not realising I was on the wrong character to learn it. I double clicked the recipe and instead of saying I couldn’t learn it, it simply vanished. I’ve tried relogging and I’ve tried going to the correct character to see if it went there but nope, there is absolutely no sign of it anywhere. How can I get it back?

It looks like my chef learned it anyway even though she did not have artificing. I swapped her jewelcrafting for artificing and the recipe appeared there. Now I’ll have to either level the craft on her or buy it again for my main artificer. sigh.

Any character can learn any recipe. Whether they can use it or not is determined by the crafting discipline they have chosen and leveled. At the bottom of recipes are usually the disciplines needed for the recipe. If white, the character does not have that discipline; green, the character has leveled the crafting discipline enough to use the recipe; red, the character knows the crafting discipline, but has not leveled enough to use it currently.

Grannysaff makes a good point tho: maybe the game should warn people when the character using a recipe doesn’t meet the crafting requirements.
