I can’t tell if this is a bug or if I’m doing something wrong.

For reference, I have:
- All the WvW maps at 100%
- All PvE maps at 100%
- Checked the Chantry of Secrets

Even though every map shows 100%, my overall map shows me to be missing several WPs, POIs, and Vistas, skill points…

Is there anything I could be missing? I’m very confused, I was not stumped like this when getting my main toon to 100% (about a year ago) so I am out of ideas at this point.

You might consider actually taking your character into each map and checking completion. Sometimes the World Map is inaccurate.

Check all cities and Explorable areas that have been impacted by the living story.

Since posting, I’ve zoned in to every map/city with no luck. Everything is at 100%, even the WvW maps.

I’m burnt out for tonight. Will return tomorrow.

Truthfully, it sounds like you are missing a map.
Go into options and put your pointer on: Hide Events and Personal Story. Then go to each map in order. The pointer should point out the anything you are missing in a map.

Not sure if it’s the same issue that you have, but I was mapping when the last feature pack came out. And it rolled my map completion back a few percent. It was because several hearts were added in charr and sylvari starting zones so I had to do them (those maps were 100% and went to about 97% after NPE patch).
Thing that helped is if you open your world map and hover your mouse over each area’s name (not included new maps like Southsun), it will show you progress bar on that certain map completion.

I missed the lower left part of timberline falls. Some caves.
I found it because of a tip on this forum to go to every map and open the map completion wiki linked above by Astral.

When you log into your main character and hit M to load the map what does it say in the upper left corner about points of interest etc,

Even if you have completed the map before, there have been several new WP’s PoI’s and a few hearts added to the game since, this will show your % under 100% until you complete them, even if you already did 100% before, if you already got your reward for mapping once, I wouldn’t worry about it, as it does not affect your game, as you do not get the reward again.

Haven’t had a chance to play today, but maybe there’s something really obvious on the map that I’m missing…

(Oh and I’m trying to get more Gifts of Exploration, not the achievement)

Looks to me you’re missing fields of ruin. Middle of the map on the far right. You can even see where it says “30-40”, south of Blazeridge.
