Q:
Has anyone else noticed lag since last tuesday’s patch?
Not sure what’s happend Anet, But since the patch on Tuesday, i’ve had crippling lag which causes me to disconnect. I cant even get out of the first map that I load onto.
Since the last big lag fix i’ve been 95% lag free. Something happened on and I’m certain it’s not my connection. (6MB/s download 2.4Mb upload, Comcast)
Same kind of symptoms as always, skills don’t activate, and then they suddenly catch up.
chat is all screwy too. It comes in waves.
Is Comcast trying to pull some netflix style bullkitten on you anet?
(edited by Hamster.4861)
Yes… I am having the same issue. Have 24mbs download. Never had this issue before. But today i’ve been booted at least 5 times in last 10 minutes. Can’t do anything.
Yep, everyone in wvwvw is hitting this and it’s game-breaking ATM.

The game is unplayable at the moment. I wonder why this thread isn’t getting more attention.
Especially annoying just a few seconds before Great Jungle Worm Kill.
Yes, been experiencing lots of lag spikes and disconnects and I was pretty sure it was to do with the latest updates. Already sent some network info to a-net from the GameAdvisor software. Hopefully something will be done about it.
I normally don’t lag aside from a little chop from large incoming zergs in WvW, but since the new update I’ve had an increasing amount of lag in any map I’m in. I decided to actually post something because I was sitting outside Divinity’s Reach salvaging things and it took 3 to 5 seconds for the salvage loot to show up.
For me in WvW, the lag seems to come on slow and get worse over time. Almost non-existent when I start, then a 2 second lag 10 or so minutes in, then a 5 second lag, and that’s when I stop playing because what I see on the screen isn’t actually what’s happening.
This is what the game has been like for me since tuesday:

<no combat

Its all the time. comes in waves.
Notice that for some reason the guild tags have been replaced with []
Ya same for me. Totally unplayable. This is terrible.

Same here. Ive never has issues with lag until the last few days. Is this a known issue?
It’s not the net.
Its not our PC’s.
Its something Anet messed up during the last patch.
I KNOW its not my net or my pc because the other MMO’s I play are fine. Even when i play them in a window whilst browsing the net and streaming a HD film on my other monitor. The lag is only in this game, Guild Wars 2.
Some people are saying its a graphics issue. I’m not sure what to think. All i know is that since the last patch i’m reduced to 5FPS whilst standing still, 3FPS whilst moving and a 1-2 second keypress lag.
I havnt experienced lag this bad since that first big event when that island rose from the ocean and the karka turned up.
Right now the following statements are completely true for me.
ANY form of pvp is out of the question.
ANY form of fractal or dungeon run is out of the question.
ANY form of large scale world event is out of the question.
ANYTHING that involves me moving around whilst another player is on screen is out of the question.
About the only thing i CAN do right now is stand still and shoot. At least that how ive managed to do my daily’s the last few days. Everything else I just dont bother with because its just not worth the aggravation.
And i think others HAVE posted about this, its just the forums dont really have a decent way of showing the information.
It lists Subject, Author, Views, Replies and Last Poster. But it doesnt show ANY dates whatsoever. In fact i found this topic by searching in google. I tried to find the same subject by reading through the game bugs section of this site but after 11 pages I just gave up. I’m sure others have as well. Since the ONLY way to find out when something was posted is to enter that particular post i can understand why some reports, like this one, dont get much of a response.
But I guarantee lots of people are experiencing what we are. Of the dozen or so regulars that are in my casual guild, at least half of them are experiencing lag of some form or another. Ive not spoken to them about it much because i havnt seen them much. Why havnt i seen them much? Because the lag is so d**ned awful they are only logging on for about 30 minutes to an hour each day to get the daily out of the way. Once that is done they are quitting the game because its unplayable.
Ive personally reported this bug each and every time ive logged in since its happened. I dont expect anything to be done to be honest. The last time I filled out a bug report each time i came across a certain bug i ended up creating a copy and paste bug report document on my desktop, just so i didnt have to write the same d**ned thing every time i logged on for the day.
I sent that report every time i ran into this bug, sometimes three times a day. I filled out reports like that day in, day out, for over 10 weeks. It still wasn’t fixed. In the end i only stopped reporting the bug because i stopped playing the game for several months. Thankfully that bug has been fixed since ive come back. I can only hope this one doesnt take as long to sort out.
But i wouldnt bet on it.

+1 I have 14fps in regular empty PVE zones I used to have 40fps in since the june 3rd patch. I’ve reported it. Haven’t heard anything back.
Yea receiving wierd long lag spikes ( some lasts 20seconds ) then at some point it seems to all catch up again and i see everything speeding up like crazy.
Im used to the “normal” zerg lag i get but this is totally different. Even happens on a desolated borderlands.
I’ve had those small lag spikes since the patch, but now I’ve run into a new problem. For 2 days now every time I attempt to kill the great wurm with an organized group I get disconnected from your servers when the wurms are nearly dead. This is getting extremely frustrating for me, since I can’t get back in the map as it is full even if I spam the join button on a party member. I would like you to fix these server issues asap. Thanks in advance.
I have been experiencing big lag spikes that results in disconnects all day today while playing the game exactly as usual. I’ve been playing since release and never had problems with disconnects, also everything else on my PC / internet is working fine. I’m not sure what happened but right now the game is unplayable for me…

I will get what is described here off and on over a window of an hour or so. Then it will go away and come back for another hour or so. No patterns as to when it kicks in.
From my work life, this “feels” like a load balancer’s or firewall’s state table management getting bogged down then suddenly catching up. Totally subjective statement not based in data.
Experiencing the same things…
And I swear, Anet has fixed and rebroke this so many times it must be a running joke in their office.
Same as OP. I noticed this a couple days ago.
After frozen forever, I get the 7:11:3:191:101 error and disconnect.
It happens within 20-30 minutes of me logging in, sometimes it gets really worst (like right now) and it’s within 1-2 min of logging in, making it completely unplayable.
Never had issues disconnecting from Gw2 in 1.5 years before this.
As far as I can tell, my computer is fine, so is my Internet, every other software runs smooth without any issues, no lag, nothing special in my rooter diagnostic, etc.
I tried to run the Gw2.exe with “-repair”, let it run, logged back in, to no avail. Still disconnecting in loops.
I have 27mbs, and I have never experienced any lags before even when massive zergs clashes. Yet now in wvw/Eotm and even dungeons (yeah everywhere), every 10 mins or so , I get a huge lag spike, skills freeze and 95% of the time I disconnect. Its unplayable….
i have been having this issue for about 36 hours now, i cant play more then 10-15 mins with out the game lagging out.
i have been in TS at the same time as playing and have 0 issues talking to people in TS.
i have also seen the game freeze but my chat box works fine.
very odd, playing since beta with the same computer and now having issues.
all i can do right now is gather and map slowly. and with mapping i lag out and die a fair bit.
