Matrix Cube Key not working properly
The Steam Ogre area is only accessible about once every 10 minutes or so. If someone opened it before you got there, your key won’t work. You can wait it out or come back later.
In other words, it’s not broken. (Although, the game could do a better job of conveying how long a wait remains.)

So it’s either a REALLY long respawn time, or some guy has been entering without the key somehow. Someone in map chat was claiming it was possible just now.
Bit annoying I’ve been sat here with the key for 2 hours and some other player has just been entering without one and re-starting it’s respawn timer.

If you can actually SEE the player doing it, report him.
According to the wiki the cooldown on the console is 20 minutes, which also matches my experience.

Makes sense since the fire elemental used to have a around a 20 minute cooldown as well.

Unfortunately I did not, but it’s something I’ll be keeping an eye on in future.
When a player logs out on the platform where the steam ogre spawns and later logs back in when the cooldown on the specific map instance is ready for another steam ogre to spawn, the player can trigger and solo kill it, which will reset the cooldown even if no matrix cube key was used to get there.
Right, it has a 20 minute cooldown, I was the one that sat there for 20 minutes checking it every minute so that everyone could know this on the /wiki
I did not, however, know that you could log out on the platform and return to kill again. That is totally an exploit since the platform will kill you after 2 minutes to prevent it.
