Summoning Mayatl currently does not trigger his group event. He can be killed, but does not award the mastery point and not his daily chest.

Im going for HOPE, and i need the “Frogs Breath”, i killed him, and did not receive the item…

Same here, spawned him, hilled him, no chest to loot for the item.

Same here, killed him, I have the mastery, but no item for my HOPE progression inside the chest. Plz anet, fix it!

Same; we killed Mayatl the Fierce but no chest spawned and there was no event bobble. Second time, event bobble showed up but no boss.

It looks like we found something common. When my party member tried to summon him, Itzel Outpost was also not yet cleared. And the same thing happened: there was an event but he didn’t spawn and is nowhere to be found.

When I summoned him at night, he spawned, but it was not marked as an event, and killing him did not give me any reward chest at all.

Maybe someone can try summoning him at day when Itzel Outpost is up and running?

EDIT: Yes it seems to have worked. I summoned him when Itzel Outpost has been cleared of Mordrem, at daytime, and he spawned and an event triggered. Killing him rewarded me with the chest and mastery point.
