Guild Wars 2

I don’t seem to be the only one with this issue. It seems like this game uses a lot of memory and very often my computer runs out of memory and won’t load the character model. I run around and wait until the model loads but sometimes it won’t load at all and I have to return to character select.

This seems to be a problem with 32bit windows. Typically it becomes associated with crash errors “out of memory” or “c0000005”. Another user posted this to help and it has fixed a variety of errors for other players with this errors and odd graphical glitches:

“Those of you on 32 bit operating systems can try adding the 3 gig memory switch. I don’t know if this works on Windows 7, but it will on XP and Vista. I have no way of knowing if this will solve your GW2 ‘out of memory’ issues, but it [theoretically] will.:

Ok I will try it but I am on 64 bit windows and using the windows 7 OS. Hopefully it works though =P

I’m on 64bit windows, windows 7 OS too. Never actually thought this was a bug till I read this, it’s been doing it since beta, just thought that’s what it did lol

Lol, my bad! Here I got so used to hearing about out of memory on 32bit systems over the last few days, I boneheadedly made a kitty’s bum of myself and assumed!!!

If either of you get any crashing, could you post your arenanet.log (under my documents/guild wars 2) exported as a .txt file? You can attach using more posting & formatting options below.

But let me post actual troubleshooting steps.

~if this is a new issues, restart comp first~

1. Make sure your vid card drivers are up to date.

2. Delete the local.dat file (under my documents/guild wars 2) then load gw2

Let me know how you go with that first.

Only time I ever crash is if I swap characters too quickly, go figure. Nothing freezes up, it just closes and pretends nothing ever happened >___<

Will give your troubleshooting steps a go when I can get a minute on my PC, boyfriend here for a couple of weeks and I’m struggling to get time in between his gauntlet challenge achievements and manic champion hunting! Being a GW2 couple rocks.
