I noticed today that there seems to be an issue with Protection and Blind proccing from the Mesmer’s Chaos Armour, if my understanding of the spell from the tool tip is correct.

I made a video to explain it as it is easier to show the problem then explain it in my opinion.

it has been like that since release or even beta i believe, not sure if it’s intended or not. a response from an arenanet guy would be appreciated.

Also chaos armor will sometimes not show the visual animation Que (the purple bubble) when acquired through a Combo Field.

This is how its always been, is working as intended as far as I know. You only get protection on activation of the skill, and runs for the duration of Chaos Armor. You’ll notice the protection is 5 seconds (base, you must have boon duration bonuses in the video) but all other boons applied via hits are only 3 seconds.

The combo finisher version has never granted protection on application or from being hit, I’ve heard this is intended, as the protection stack on the Mesmer is meant to aid in their survivability (and not a Warrior leaping in, for example)

I know it has never givent Prot on application but the tool tip leads people to beleive that it should have a chance of proccing it when struck.

Had a chance to test it out a little more tonight, Protection just isnt procing at all for me.

Blind seems a bit strange, it maybe working. I tested with and without the trait Blinding Befuddlement and confusion stacks seemed higher with the trait than without but I cant be sure due to the fact the fights are random in the mists.
