I do not know if the Mesmers Signet of Inspiraton was changed on purpose or not. While the Beta testings this Signet gave you the random boon every 10 seconds, which was for example an nice adition with the upcoming speed buff (if he came )
But since the… i think it was 2nd day of the headstart… this skill does only give out the boons while infight and not anymore outfight.
So i wanted to know if it was changed on purpose or not, and if it was…maybe you could change it back?

Been wondering and noticed the SAME thing! The tooltip doesn’t say while in combat, it just states every 10 seconds so I’m kinda hoping it’s broken

It was probably changed because having your character give his status every 10 seconds, no matter where he was, would be pretty annoying.

But having to wear a Focus, just to speed yourself is so much more annoying, then getting buffed every 10 seconds ^^

i was on purpose, cus some of the boons help do some major dmage in fight’s, when the key to high damage with a mesmer is to use “shatter skill’s” when you got 3 clones up, is best time….whats bugged is the official website said to use clones etc. as distractions…enemy’s always pick you over a clone, even when you body block and use skill 2(staff weapon skill 2), i seen my clones confuse more people trying to revive them, then they do enemies, >.<

If it was a change on purpose then the tooltip should be changed because it’s misleading. If it had stated that it was during combat only I would have used the point on something else. Yes, at higher levels when you’ve got several skill points it doesn’t matter much but when you’re just starting out with only a couple of points it makes a big difference.

well, one way or another there’s a bug here. Either it’s not functioning as intended, or the tool-tip hasn’t been updated.

Yes. The skill says “random boon…every 10s,” but we aren’t seeing the boons. In fact, I’m not altogether sure I’m getting the boons every 10s during combat. Instead, they seem to trigger on criticals, i.e. something else happens and I get the boon.

To be honest, it annoyed me. But the speed boost was useful out of combat!

I can confirm that the Signet of Inspiration only activates its passive effect after your character has taken damage. It’s most likely a bug than intentional because it is a signet with a “passive” ability just like any other professions like Warrior, Guardian, and Elementalists as an example.

As of the current state of Signet of Illusions, it’s at a serious disadvantage and the behavior of its passive from Signet of Illusion is not consistent to how other professions’ passive signets are intended to work.

I can confirm that the Signet of Inspiration only activates its passive effect after your character has taken damage.

That’s consistent with my experience. When I fall or jump (and take damage), it always triggers. That’s inconsistent with the description that says it’s random every 10s; nothing about damage.

Agreed there is something wrong with the tooltip, however as much as I would like a speedboost randomly while out walking, it would be annoying to get that boost randomly when you are attempting to do a jump puzzle or somthing. Kinda nice its only in combat, but it should give me something as soon as I enter combat and then every 10 seconds after(even though fights hardly even last 10 seconds..)
