Mesmer bugs:

  • Duelists Discipline provides no bleeding chance.
  • Malicious Sorcery provides no attack speed increase.
  • Imagined Burden provides might out of combat when using the greatsword autoattack
  • Phantasmal Warden is coded as using a sword weapon. This is expressed in proccing Fencer’s Finesse and in the damage range of its attacks.
  • Time warp only refreshes quickness/slow and will not stack them up in duration, even if you have significant condition/boon duration.
  • Mantra of Concentration now applies 5 stacks of stability instead of 3
  • An effect procced by summoning previous phantasm / using healing signet (not sure which one it is yet) prevents you from summoning a second phantasm for a sec or two.
  • Phantasm damage tooltips do not take the base 15% boost into account for display values.
  • Using a non-mantra healing skill while traited for inspiration will cause many on-heal effects to activate twice. Major traits do not matter for this. Not all on-heal runes are affected, but many are.

Mender’s Purity

  • Will not proc on the last activation of the healing mantra; 2nd if untraited, 3rd if traited.
  • Only removes one condition instead of two needs confirmation
  • Menders purity will not trigger when you dodge after casting a traited mirror heal until the reflect wears off. (triggers too late instead of at the end of the cast) needs confirmation

I didn’t see this thread. Mantra of Concentration is giving 5 stacks of Stability instead of 3.

Edit: Also, about Mender’s Purity, it says it casts Power Cleanse on heal but it’s removing only 1 condition instead of 2.

Edit 2: It is removing 2 conditions, ignore what I said above.

My experience with mender’s purity is that it triggers sometimes. I still don’t really know what makes it trigger. Normally it does trigger with the first power return, but no the last. I still have to try harmonious mantras to try the middle power return.

Can someone try this?

Here are a few I ran into while testing last night

  • Damage in tooltip for phantasms does not account for the 15% baseline modifier. Damage dealt in combat does properly use the 15% modifier.
  • Warden damage is still 2.5% less than what tooltip claims
  • Warden seems to use Sword instead of axe. Observed damage spread is 10% (should be 20% for axe) and it stacks Fencers Finesse when attacking (axe wouldn’t proc the trait).
  • Mind Spike still doing 10% less damage than what tooltip claims.
  • Healing mantra proc’s Harmonius Mantra twice, not once like all other mantras.
  • Phantasm summoning right after an effect proc’ed by summoning previous phantasm / using healing signet (not sure which one it is yet) prevents you from summoning that second phantasm for a sec or two.
  • Dodging or evading an attack while OOC puts you in combat. I think this could be because of a trait that proc’s on successful evade
  • Sometimes swordsman misses his first attack by over/undershooting.

Which Phantasm (apart from Swordsman) was giving you stacks?

Equip a sword on main-hand, use a pistol and a focus, you’ll see both phantasms stacking the buff.

Edit: iDuelist doesn’t stack the buff, I made a mistake.

That’s because Mantra’s now start recharging once they are readied. So , for example, if you ready Mantra of Distraction and wait 30 seconds (the CD). When you use the Mantra twice it will be ready to ready again.

If this is a bug or an undocumented feature is unknown.

So its the Warden.

Yeah the Warden’s weapon is considered a sword (a post above me details it).

This may be a bug or a feature.

Timewarp seems to refresh quickness and slow each second: if you have boon/condi duration (as per Chaos GM minor) it won’t stack in duration. Unclear if intended or a bug.

  • Mender’s Purity does not properly remove conditions in conjunction with the heal mantra.

It does, except for the last mantra charge, regardless of traited 2 or 3 charges. It’s always the last one that doesn’t work. You also won’t hear the penetrating “power cleanse sound”.

Illusionary Persona being given to all mesmers doesn’t seem to be working. The effect plays when you use a shatter without any illusions, but when testing it on mobs it doesn’t work. Maybe they changed it so it doesn’t count your character unless you’re shattering with illusions as well, who knows. I don’t have time to test that right now.

Just an update. It seems to work only in combat, which if I recall is not the way the trait used to function. It’s a pretty big downgrade, IMO.

- Healing Prism only activates when there is an ally to heal, so you’re are not extra healed if alone or all allies (also illusions) are full health.

Healing Prism and a Necro’s Vampiric Aura are currently letting me healing nearby allies for around 350 with every attack in full damage gear. The lifesteal is counting as a heal and activating the trait.

When taking the ‘Inspiration’ specialisation with mesmer, most ‘on heal’ procs will be doubled.

E.g. Rune of the Air now gives 10s of swifness instead of 5s of swiftness. Rune of Adventure gains 100% endurance instead of 50%. Rune of Balthazar inflict 2 stacks of burning instead of 1. …..

This does not work with the mantra heal skill but it works with all other mesmer heal skills. It might be some weird interaction with ’Mender’s Purity’?

  • Illusionary riposte doesn’t generate clone when wielding scepter at mainhand.
  • Players can’t activate iSwap after generating a clone from iLeap, even when the clone is alive. eg. when dodge after casting iLeap, but this happens by chance.

Duelists Discipline trait says it reduces the cooldown of pistol skillS, but only lowers the cooldown of the Duelist, not the Magic Bullet when interrupting with Magic Bullet. Interrupting with another skill does lower the cooldown of magic bullet.

Greatsword 5 often fails to push back enemies, and instead just knocks them over in place, even on flat ground

Clones created by scepter auto attack/block have no offhand weapons, meanwhile clones created by sword 3/block do.

Phantasms are missing their mist effects on weapons

Clones and phantasms often times play the default player animation on the first attack, instead of the correct animation (warden hacks instead of doing ranger axe5 animation)

Ether Feast heal isn’t classified with any other skills/traits. Couldn’t it just be a clone skill for a reduced cooldown?

Here are a few I ran into while testing last night

  • Healing mantra proc’s Harmonius Mantra twice, not once like all other mantras.

If you have the inspiration traitline selected, you have the minor trait “Mender’s Purity”, which makes you cast “Power Cleanse” whenever you use a healingskill. So this is probably intended and a nice synergy.

Some daze and stun duration numbers:

  • Mantra of Distraction stun with Confounding Suggestions lasts for 1.15s instead of 1.25s (need independent confirmation), not sure about the daze
  • MoD with Rune of the Mesmer and CS gives a 0.2s daze (not stun)
  • MoD with Sigil of Paralyzation and CS gives a 0.2 daze (not stun)
  • Diversion (traited AoE) with Rune of the Mesmer and CS (on cooldown) gives a 1.25s daze (so it seems CS works correctly here and the rune doesn’t work at all)

These I verified by recording in PvP lobby at 60fps and splicing the video in a video editor.

Unintended procs of Fencer’s Finesse (the effect):

1. Sword main-hand / Focus off-hand
Reflected projectiles from traited Temporal Curtain; Phantasmal Warden (traited/untraited), reflected projectiles from Feedback, Power Spike, Mind Wrack, Cry of Frustration (I didn’t test reflected projectiles from Warden but it should proc)

2. Sword main-hand / Other off-hands
Reflected projectiles from Feedback, Power Spike, Mind Wrack, Cry of Frustration

3. Scepter main-hand / Sword off-hand
Scepter skill #1,2,3 including Counterspell, Reflected projectiles from Feedback, Power Spike, Mind Wrack, Cry of Frustration (scepter clone’s attack does not proc, but a shattered clone still procs)

4. Scepter main-hand / Focus off-hand
Warden (traited/untraited) (all others do not proc)

5. Scepter main-hand / Pistol,Torch off-hand
(No procs)

6. Spear
Reflected projectiles from Feedback, Power Spike, Mind Wrack, Cry of Frustration

Specializations: Dom/Duel/Insp; all major traits unselected except Fencer’s Finesse, and Warden’s Feedback when necessary

I’d like to add a couple that I haven’t heard mentioned yet.

Illusionary Inspiration – When it procs, it ‘cancels’ the next cast queued up.
For example, if you create iBerzerker, but press “2” just before casting finishes, you would expect that the Mirroor Blade skill would begin casting immediately after the phantasm is summoned; however, if the signet of inspiration procs, then the Mirror Blade skill cast would be completely ignored. This is extremely disconcerting.

Restorative Mantras – The healing from this trait now takes effect at the end of the Mantra charging animation, which is a noticable second after the actual charge time completes (previously proc’d here). This could be intentional, but it is also disconcerting.

I think all classes should have a sticky of “Pending bugs to fix” for transparency. That way we could also see if a bug we’ve been wanting to get fixed gets fixed or not and it’ll help devs remember what’s pending, class bug-wise.

I’ve played it since beta (even though it’s been broken since then) and now I hardly even touch it since this last patch. I’d list the few other bugs I’ve found, but what’s the use? Dont know if anyone has noticed this but if you equip Sigil of Paralyzation and the trait Confounding Suggestions, instead of a stun you just daze enemies for like half a second.
Same with Rune of the Mesmer

Yes, there have been a number of small bugs for mesmers, here and there, since forever.
Yes, there are numerous bugs that have popped up since the Specializations patch (big surprise here).
Yes, they didn’t patch any of the mesmer bugs today. Nor did they patch anything for thieves.
Please be patient with the development staff: There’s only so much they can do within two weeks; especially without proper QA test servers, or what not (so I hear).

Less than two weeks, even: I don’t know their deployment processes, but it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say they only had five to seven working days from the day they published the initial specializations changes, to the day they had to wrap up for the next patch deployment.

If you’re not willing to list the bugs you’ve found, that’s your choice, but be warned: it may just be interpreted as complaining about something that doesn’t exist.

I highly doubt they have been intentionally just ignoring all the new problems that have popped up from the Specializations patch. If they didn’t care about mesmers, we wouldn’t have gotten so many improvements in our specializations vs the old trait system. However, it’s a free world, you’re free to pick and choose which changes to take for granted and which ones should be glorified/vilified.

Why would I list more bugs when they haven’t touched the ones already listed, and most of these are more important to actual game play than the minor ones I find. If these bugs listed here got fixed, then yes, I’d gladly add to my list, but my complaints are already on 3 other posts about mesmer bugs as it is. It’s complaining, yes, because it’s been an issue for nearly 3 years now, that’s where the “they don’t care about mesmers” comes in.

About Power return proc’ing twice, this might be caused by Mender’s Purity, since it casts power cleanse now. This means that Power return does indeed release two mantras. I think that’s an intended feature. Try testing it without Mender’s Purity.

yes but annoying none the less. I always felt this was stupid. Curtain should pulse like the Guards staff #3 skill. If you can stand on the symbol and get stacked swiftness why cant you run through curtains line and have the same effect?

That doesn’t make sense, though. The purpose of the curtain was to give a speed boost for people who ran through it, like Veil.
I’m relatively certain that the point of limiting it to people who do not yet have swiftness, was to prevent people from gaining excessive amounts.

The only fix, IMO, is to make it so that, on run-through, you gain a swiftness stack which caps your TOTAL swiftness to ~12 seconds (*modified by boon duration) , which is the base amount one would get if they ran through without swiftness (IIRC).

yes but annoying none the less. I always felt this was stupid. Curtain should pulse like the Guards staff #3 skill. If you can stand on the symbol and get stacked swiftness why cant you run through curtains line and have the same effect?

That doesn’t make sense, though. The purpose of the curtain was to give a speed boost for people who ran through it, like Veil.
I’m relatively certain that the point of limiting it to people who do not yet have swiftness, was to prevent people from gaining excessive amounts.

That could work too. The point of my idea was to not have a completely worthless skill if you happen to be running the boon signet and get swiftness 1 second before you run through curtain, making the curtain cooldown completely wasted.

Right now its just poor mechanics and it needs to be addressed.

Agreed. I am able to work around it, but it certainly would be nice for it to be addressed.

Yup it is. I don’t know about the reasons as it was done way before I joined the game, but from what I heard it was an intended change because there had been abuses with it. But yeah, I also agree it was a lazy implementation and it could be worked better. Luckily with the changes done to Signet of Inspiration (?) mesmers can have some more reliable source of swiftness, not the ideal though but better than relying only on Temporal Curtain.

Oh btw, maybe an idea would making it to prevent stacking the boon if it came from the same source within an interval (like 3s?) but allowing it to be stacked if the last came from another source or if it has past such interval. I believe it could prevent abuses without making it worthless.

Some daze and stun duration numbers:

  • Mantra of Distraction stun with Confounding Suggestions lasts for 1.15s instead of 1.25s (need independent confirmation), not sure about the daze
  • MoD with Rune of the Mesmer and CS gives a 0.2s daze (not stun)
  • MoD with Sigil of Paralyzation and CS gives a 0.2 daze (not stun)
  • Diversion (traited AoE) with Rune of the Mesmer and CS (on cooldown) gives a 1.25s daze (so it seems CS works correctly here and the rune doesn’t work at all)

These I verified by recording in PvP lobby at 60fps and splicing the video in a video editor.

I encountered this phenomenon today myself. Glad I checked this thread first before creating another thread detailing this.

To be fair, I didn’t think the increase to daze duration from rune of the mesmer even worked before the new trait system was implemented…… :o

Mesmer and Thief bugs weren’t addressed in the 7/7/15 patch, so it would be nice if a Dev popped in just to let us know they recognize this thread/these bugs.
