Mesmer clones affected by Culling settings
same problem here…SO DARN ANNOYING
Bump since the new round of patches did not helped sadly.
I was looking to see if this was a bug.. Fighting in a mob, I realized that most weren’t players, they were all the Mesmer clones and phantasms.
Even more of a problem is that ALL other players look that way currently, regardless of armor. A generic, look based on armor type.
I don’t seem to have an issue, but I am sure that everyone sees me in the same
Back items and weapons seem unaffected, but I think because Mesmers make clones of themselves as other players see them, it’s more obvious to them.
Maybe it’s done for the event to reduce lag?
Well…this is really a problem -.- they should remove this effect from mesmer clones…it’s not helping us is just annoying and STUPID . Why would i want to see my clone if its not looking the same as me? Please Arena Net FIX THIS .Also after they return to normal appearance they are motionless…although u still see them doing damage
The real question or issue is, how do these clones look to other people? Defeats the purpose a little if they look totally different than you.
I think the problem is that when they assigned clones the placeholder models for when an ENEMY mesmer uses them (so that they look the same as the enemy mesmer) they forgot to disable those models for the Player Character clones
Obviously this is a side effect of the fact that this is a WvW feature that got slapped on PvE

Well that is mostly a WvW issue but consider this. In a 1v1 or small group vs small group the settings shouldn’t be having any effect. In a blob vs blob it is hard to tell who is who regardless of class.
More importantly, haven’t seen this brought up in the WvW section yet.
Thanks for the report, folks. I’ll send this in for review.
still not fixed ? or can be adjusted at settings? doesnt work for me

Hi Josh, could you also take a look at the ranger spirits (we’re having a similar problem) and other ethereal beings such as the Ascalon ghosts? Thanks.
