Mesmer's clones doesn't wear the outfit
For reference, Infinite Watchknight Tonic works on phantasms and clones.

Same here. If this happens in sPvP, it needs to be fixed ASAP, please.
Yep, I checked. The same bug happens in sPvP.
Same issue, please resolve this.
Wearing this in sPVP and WvW severly breaks the balance of clones, i can be auto targeted almost instantly based on visuals.

Yup, it breaks the mesmer mechanic pretty hard. We can’t be deceptive and gain one second over the enemy if they can spot the true mesmer immediately. And we wanna enjoy the outfits too, I don’t wanna be excluded from this feature.
I am getting this as well with the Fancy Winter Outfit. Pretty cheap trick to have us spend 10 bucks and have it completely destroy the mesmer mechanic if we want our mesmer to look pretty
Please tell us its a bug and you guys are fixing it!
While we’re on the subject. Clones don’t get the WvW buff or food/oils either, so it’s still very easy to spot the Mesmer.
Yea one would think this would be a issue in spvp or wvw just like how the map completion star on your nameplate doesn’t show on your clones either, making it easier for your opponents but regardless they still can’t tell which is the real one. Sad
same problem, flease fix asap. its a game breaker.
Bought the Mad Kings Outfit due to the cosmetic change of my Charr’s tail which I find really cool.
As I need to play on lowest settings for WvW, everyone to me are shown as team colours and default models including my clones.
I wasn’t aware they were looking different to me until next morning when I turned up the graphics for some PvE, just thought I was just having a very bad night loosing most of the small roaming fights.
Game breaking bug for the Mesmer class, quite an I’M HERE sign above my head… this I do not find cool.
Same problem I’m having with my Mesmer.
Kinda defeats the purpose of illusions if the enemy can spot you 100% of the time :-/
Hope Anet fixes this ASAP
Yep, this bug is really frustrating. I wanna wear my outfits in sPvP and WvW.
Needs to be Fixed. Defeats the purpose of the most basic mechanic of the mesmer.
Just came to post this. Sad to see this post is almost a month old and it is not fixed. Is this going to be fixed or am I just not going to buy any more of the costumes from the gemstore?

Not if you’re a mesmer.
Pretty sad such a huge bug such as this one hasn’t been fixed already. Not very impressed with Anet tbh.
Anything going to be done about this or can I ask for a refund on the bloody prince outfit since I got it for my mesmer?
Is this being addressed?
Add me to the list, bought the Witch outfit today and found out my clones retain the my CoF set. Its game breaking to the core for us, and its sad noone even cares enough to address it.
Like the others here, I can confirm that this problem is persistent in every aspect of the game -PvE, WvW, Spvp, etc. – and affects every memser player who utilizes clones.
Note: That only Gem Store outfits like Madking, Cook, Bloody Prince, etc. are affected, but not armor skins like Phoenix, Flamekissed, Aether, etc.
Hopefully this a bug that will be addressed in the next patch 05/20/14?
Outfits were not intended to be used in combat. What you are seeing isn’t a form of armor, so of course you aren’t going to see it on your clones. Honestly, I don’t know how Arenanet would be able to transfer to your clones. In truth, I’m surprised they don’t ban their usage in any PVP formats, WvW in particular. In PVP, it still lists your class on the map with an icon, but in WvW, classes aren’t laid out in a specific manner. If it’s really such a big deal, just turn it off in those particular circumstances.

What the hell are you talking about? Of course its a big kittening deal, i WvW/PvP the entirety of my playtime, there is not “particular” circumstances in which i can turn it off, and im not gonna toggle it on and off each time i go in and out of combat.
They should either fix this or give a bloody refund. I truly cannot fathom from what stance you think you have to right to argue them doing nothing about this, unless you are a diehard bootlicker.

Well since they decided to let us wear outfits in combat then yes they are intended to be used in combat now. I will not be buying any more outfits until this is fixed. I really am tempted to ask for my gems back on the bloody prince outfit because I should not pay for something and NOT be able to use it as it is INTENDED. Every other class can wear outfits in pvp why can’t mesmers? It is a bug that needs to be fixed. I am giving it to the 20th and then requesting a refund on a BUGGED item that I purchased.
The system still doesn’t consider them armor. Their original intention was to look pretty outside of combat. If they were intended for combat, they wouldn’t have been released as Town Clothing initially. What is so hard to grasp about this? The only reason they are the way they are now is because they can handle the other battle animations and people want to use them in combat. Do you see the system damaging anything else when you die? Because it isn’t armor, it is WORKING AS INTENDED!
I know it sucks, but you will just have to deal with it and be flexible. Change your build or swallow your pride for a small portion the game. It’s not the end of the world.

Tonics are not considered armor and still illusions copy the tonics appearance. Outfits weren’t designed to be used in combat but now they are. They revamped the whole system and didn’t bother about this situation.
It’s clearly a bug that has been overseen and needs to be fixed.

You’re right! How inconsiderate and just down right crazy of me to expect something I paid for to work in all areas of the game. Darn this pride of mine I should just be grateful and throw money away. I won’t use the costume because of the bug- but hey I guess those 700 gems are not wasted after all. Thanks for putting it into perspective for me.
Please fix this is stopping me from wearing my costume.
I see this was not fixed today. I wrote a ticket and they said it was being worked on. Could you please tell me if this is going to be fixed before the ancestral outfit is going to be put in the gemstore? I saw this in a post and I love it but refuse to buy it if it is bugged.

I don’t see any reason why they can’t just duplicate the model you’re using and solve the problem entirely. Frankly, that’s what I thought they were doing in the first place.
@OP: Same here. I noticed it before, but now that I have town clothes I like to wear everywhere it’s a slight problem.
