Does it only happen to me or the metabolic primer is worthless?

I just had one and i used it it was ok for the first food eaten during the duration but if you change food regulary, the food stop matching the duration of the metabolic primer.

Out of 2 metabolic primer, the 2 ended completly useless…

And the wording of the metabolic explicitly say : Any food eaten while the primer is active will have the same remaining time as the primer, rounded up to the next hour.

I do feel like its a bug according to the description of the item.

It is not only you. If you so desired, you could find several threads on this issue. For some players, it seems to work, and for others…not so much.

It seems to be character related… I have an engi that got it and it does work but not on my ranger…
