Metrica Province JP
Some people have mentioned having been banned right after doing that JP. Anecdotal evidence leads players to believe the teleportation marks players as cheaters.
This also happened to me and my guild over this past weekend. We were doing a team race through it, and on more than one occasion when people fell, they would fall all the way down and die. And one more than one occasion when they did fall, they did not die, they just landed and got back up and kept running. I think ANet really does need to look at this, especially considering the stories of bans being handed out to people after this happens to them, for Teleporting. If they are indeed true.

From the emails the unlucky ones have received:
We have complete confidence in our detection and in our decision to terminate the account. Therefore, we will not accept an appeal in relation to this account termination.
The decision to terminate the account is final. This decision has been thoroughly reviewed by our team, and we maintain absolute confidence in our conclusion.
The account will remain permanently closed and is not eligible for reactivation under any circumstances.

I want you to know that we take great care when analyzing accounts prior to termination. NCsoft support staff is both diligent and conservative in determining which accounts are using these programs, and we only terminate an account only after we are able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that such use has occurred
As previously mentioned, we are confident that our detection systems are accurate. A review of the violation history confirms the account termination, and we will not entertain further discussion about this incident. Subsequent tickets will be closed without response.
anet must apologize and compensate to those innocent who got banned while doing the jumping puzzle.

Happened to me multiple times since the game’s release. Still not fixed. Usually happens when the winds push me off, and I fall from the puzzle onto the metrica map. Very annoying because I have to redo the initial part to get in. Sometimes you don’t even die from that giant fall. To hear that people have been banned for being a victim of a bug in the game is despicable. Looks like I too was at risk of being perma banned then? Not spending a penny more on this game.
While it is good to see that they found the issue and are working on reinstating those who were wrongfully banned the responses to those tickets just really bothers me.
Is it just me or do they really just come across as having a highly arrogant tone?
I understand things happen, and that 97% of the time those claiming they did nothing wrong did, but still the smugness in the final responses is just shameful.
It almost comes across as a waste of time to worry about those 3% of customers that may have been banned due to the detection methods (guessing auto-detection software plays a big part) not being worthy of “complete confidence”.
It also comes across that a chance to a fair appeal since NCsoft is “confident that our detection systems are accurate” is never really going to happen and these customers just got lucky plain and simple, and while they may have confidence in their detection methods it does not leave me with that same confidence anymore.
Its frustrating, because in the end we are just all at the mercy of the company behind the game we are currently playing with no real rights or protections other than trust, but how do you continue to trust under such circumstances?
I hope the best for all who were hit by this and that you rightfully get your accounts back, and Arenanet while I do understand mistakes happen (and in the end you guys are usually pretty good about doing the right thing) the tones being communicated to your customers just seems to be very poor.
