Mezmer clones and phantasm bug
That is not a bug, that is just how projectiles work with everything in the game. If you don’t want clones and phantasms taking the hits then don’t try to shoot through them or use a piercing projectile trait.

How dare you! Hitman is not to waste traits on piercing projectiles, or movement or energy on correctly positioning for accurate shots! His skills should dodge anything in his way and bend its trajectory until they reach the intended target.
It’s only fair, he’s he after all.

I am not convinced, phantasm are purely an illusion, they are not made of real material, thus arrows, bullets should go through them.
Sure, if you target a phantasm or clone and then deliberately shot at him then that is a different story, but targeting the real Mezmer and hitting a clone because it gets in the way is just ridiculous. The more I play this game, the more I realize that game developers did not pay much attention to details.

“Projectiles should only collide with clones and phantasms when it is convenient for me.”
I’d also like this. Especially ground targeted spells can never be targeted at illusions and therefore not damage them. And btw, they’re just illusions, so conditions shouldn’t affect them.
That’s the whole premise behind being a Mesmer…. Hiding behind your clones and phantasms! This is not a bug!

That is preposterous, Mezmers create clones and phantasm to confuse the opponent and give him/her a hard time trying to figure which one is the real mezmer. However, in the curret state, Mezmers clones not only act as a distraction, but as real entities as well.
Phantasms are like real entities and clones need to be shattered somehow, so they all take hit for the Mesmer. Not to mention the Phantasmal Defender that absorbs damage that the Mesmer would have taken otherwise. Btw, confuse the opponent = hiding the truth through deception.
If hitting the Mesmer exclusively allowed you to bypass damaging the clones/phantasms even if LoS means the clone is in front of the Mesmer, the Mesmer would be a broken/useless profession. This is not a bug.

By that line of argument, they should also be incapable of dealing damage. Which makes them (and thus mesmers) virtually useless.

Not true, phantasms are made of magic. Magic doesn’t work the way you want it to.

and where exactly did I say this?
