Today i was in sPvP and when jumping off the higher ground, enemies killed me while i was still in air and than i instantly died WITHOUT downed state.
Happened two times.

Are you playing an elementalist? Elementalist have a tendency to “skip” the downed state and head strait for the coffin…

Is this anything like when you walk down steps you take fall damage? LOL, cause that’s like epic!

But problem OP described is of another origin: there is no down state in midair no matter how you got to 0 hp.

I’ve also experienced issues when dying while falling off a cliff. My character would be visible somewhere halfway in mid air, yet the area from which I could be revived would be at the bottom of the cliff.

So there seems to be an occasional mismatch between where your character seems to be lying, and where your character actually is according to the server.
