Midnight fire dye shows brown on preview
It depends what kind of material the dye is going on. From http://www.dragonsworn.net/dyes/, it looks like it’s normal for it to look brownish, depending on the armour.
Yeah, sadly it appears more brown on some materials instead of the nice red tinted black it looks like on others.
