Not seeing a reason why my flamethrower is constantly missing. The target is in rage (it’s beating on me and doing damage), in front of me (I’m looking right at it), and yet, the flamethrower can’t hit it. Miss! Miss! Miss! It’s getting old. Fix your FF AOE already. Check for the target on each splash, not just the first. Just do something to fix the broken mechanics for this class.

So many views and no one is saying I’m wrong.

I stopped using the missthrower for this very reason and use a rifle on my Engi now.

I notice also that on my Guardian when I do the torch flame breath if anything touches me my Guardian aims at the sky and I get misses. I’m sure this also happened with the engi too so as well as constantly missing you have extra misses thrown in on top of that if an enemy hits you.

Not everyone plays only one alt. Turning off auto-targeting for the Flamethrower means that you have to spend time turning it back on for other classes. Not to mention that auto-targeting doesn’t actually matter, since the Flamethrower only does damage in the direction you’re facing, if it works at all. When it does work, it’s very nice support DPS. When it does work. But posting a workaround instead of a fix isn’t helpful. The fact of the matter is, like so many other aspects of the Engineer class, Flamethrower is broken. The targeting doesn’t work.
