A day ago I reported that Chhk the Windmill King is missing on Sorrow’s Furnace server. However when I went on overflow he was there. I am not sure if it works for other bugged skill points but could be possible
I think they need to hire more folks. I keep getting the impression that they’re sorely understaffed to handle such a giant influx of players, and the hundreds of things that have suddenly broken. And it’s all piling up faster than they can handle.
I don’t think this is true, I’ve seen the same thing happen on every MMO I have played … the problem is that forums are simply generally not read. Very rarely a dev or community rep will pass by at exactly the right time to see a thread like this and pass it on to the official QA department and something gets done.
All of this is of course a bit unfortunate since the players could be the most effective QA department in MMO testing, we have incredible testing coverage … we just lack the tools to communicate the bugs with the developers. All we can do is whine and whine and whine some more in the hopes they see it. Especially fun when months down the line someone official stops by and says “oh we didn’t realise that was broken, I’ll pass it on”.
Still waiting for the first MMO to just have a public bugzilla.

Problem: Skill challenge near The Stychs NPC invisible/missing (named mob named Petil calls out a challenge when you near his location on the mini map, but is nowhere to be seen)
We’ve finally tracked down the root cause of these missing skill point NPCs and fixed it. This magical fix will be in the next patch after it goes through further testing. This fix will also address issues with missing Event NPCs, too.
We apologize for the hassle these have been, but thank you all for hanging in there while we got this issue sorted out.
I dunno if this latest patch (as of about 5-10 minutes ago?) counted as ‘next patch’, but the Hylek skill point in Metrica Province by Loch Jezt survived maybe 10 fights and then stayed dead. Again. Just FYI. At least I finally got it anyways.

This is a big game. I haven’t even finished exploring all the maps let alone try any of the PvP. There’s craploads of content they have to work on so give them some time.
If it’s not fixed in the next patch, then you can start complaining because they’ve confirmed they know the problem.
Shooopa, I think the main thing he was saying was that there was the October 1 patch that the patch notes are about. After a few hours, Bill Freist posted that about finding the root cause of all the skill point NPC problems. After an hour or two of that posting, a message in-game was delivered saying a new build was coming and servers went down, it downloaded something small, and servers went back up again. Almost everyone assumed that was the magical fix for all the skill point problems.

When I get near to the point, where the NPC is supposed to be, the map shows that the challenge is in progress, yet the NPC is nowhere to be found. In the chat I can see that the NPC is talking, so I’m guessing she’s underground, or something like that.

Skill Challenge: Southernmost skill point in the middle of the map, in the spider area is missing.
This is getting extremely frustrating. I spent all day yesterday running around 95% of world map areas getting skill points that were bugged previous to the server restart before they broke again…now I get to this one and find that just ONE day after the patch it’s already bugged. Can’t finish my map/world completion.
I wonder if we will see a final fix to the skillpoint bugs in the next patch, so they don’t just bug again after some fights.
At least the “we found the root of the problem” sounds promising. Furthermore they could move on to fix something else if those points stay fixed ^^

Skill Challenge: Defeat the Heroic Drake Broodmother can’t be triggered. She’s at the skill challenge marker but appears as a friendly (green) character. I tried to aggro the character but it didnt work.

Skill Challenge: Defeat the Heroic Drake Brood. Drake Broodmother and 1 of the 2 broodlings are at the location and green (unattackable) but the second broodling is nowhere to be seen.

Cannot see object/npc or anything to do with completing this skill point.
Map completion says still missing 1 so there is one here (symbol present on map)

I wonder if we will see a final fix to the skillpoint bugs in the next patch, so they don’t just bug again after some fights.
Until it is really fixed, they should at least implement an automatic reset of all Skill Chalanges every hour, so that people who are not able to play during the first 15 minutes after a patch/server restart actually get a chance to finish the areas.
Or turn all SCs into “Commune with place of power” type of SCs, they seem to be less affected by bugs.

Bug: NPC is lying dead
As of today, this skill challenge is still broken some 2 weeks after I first started actively playing my Asura character. In fact, somebody in map chat told me just now that this might not be so much a bug as that some people might be actively sabotaging the skill point by, and I quote, “leashing the NPC outside of the range for which it’s been coded”. I think this should be investigated.

Can’t wait – really annoying spending so much silver going to check up on these skill points after patches.

Sparkfly Fen – Stone of Hazaan Skill Point (Shark is stuck in the rock and can’t reach it)
Diessa Plateau – Vista that requires you to use a cannon to get there, when you talk to the NPC it says : “The content is currently unavailable please try again later”.
Couldn’t you make these Skill Points/NPCs refresh every day or something?
