Since this seems to be happening in a lot of areas I figured it would be a good idea to compile a list of missing or broken skill point NPCs in one thread instead of having all these individual threads.

When you post please list the NPC’s name (if you can), it’s location (to the best of your ability), and what’s wrong with it?

It’s my last thing I need for 100% world completion :C

Missing on Maguuma as well.

the one in Metrica at the Luminates Plant is also missing.

Burnt Hollow – NPC missing too. It is 4th zone in a row where i find either glitched or missing NPC. ANet, are you even trying ?

Dissun’s Mine Skill Point Missing

Frostgorge Sound – Talabaroop Waves: NPC with Skill Point missing

it’s missing in Dragonsbrand [US] as well.

Also one missing in Iron Marches → Lake Carnifex → The npc is underground

There’s also 2 Skill Points bugged in Sparkfly Fen.
1 in The Shattered Keep → The NPC can’t be found
1 in Stone of Hazaan → The challenge is always launched and the last mob to kill can’t be found

I would like to add the Ascolon Forum NPC in the Charr starting area.

Im stuck at like 98% completetion of the area and that one NPC won’t appear. Its annoying.

Guess it would help if I said im on the underworld server.

Yes for me the NPC for the Bore Lynch Skill point in Frostgorge Sound has been missing as well. And considering the first post is almost two weeks ago, I hope I don’t have to wait just as long for it to be fixed :S

Suggestion for permanent fix for all skill point NPCs, a reset within an hour or 24hours if NPC is not used.

The skillpoint in Fort Trinity in the Straits of Devastation isn’t working on Piken Square.
You can still see the npc in chat.
I guess she fell through the floor

Add to my previous list the NPC at the hot springs in Wayfarer and the bear shaman one near Hostra’s refuge

And the infamous one in Melchior’s leap…and apparently the carnival strongman in Beetletun.

Centurion Micka Thickblood is missing from the Ashford Forum in the Plains of Ashford. Conversation still shows up in chat box but no NPC. Been at least a couple of days. Can’t we get a server restart or something????

When I was on just a bit ago, the Veteran Risen Spectral Guard in the Straits of Devestation south of the Sentry Waypoint near the Temple of Balthezar was missing on Yak’s Bend server.

Add to the list, Lionguard Mette in Lornar’s Pass (Tarnished Coast).

SP near Bayt Fallahin in Malchor’s Leap on Isles of Janthir has been broken for weeks (no exaggeration).

So, I can not complete both Malchor’s for Bayt Fallahin missing NPC and now Cursed Shore, as the NPC at Caer Shadowfain appears to be missing as well… I just need them to complete the zones… would be nice if you all could fix them sometime soon!

Same issue as above, its been going on for days. I have reported this in game as well. Something should be done.

I think they should just do a very quick server reset. It would get rid of a lot of afk, which would lower latency and sometimes fps if theres a large group of people there. I don’t think these npc are bugged because they worked for awhile. But they got glitched which does happen. it may be easier to just reset the server and let it be than to actually fix it. If they decide to work on a fix right now then you’re waiting a week or two if not more for the patch. Whereas the server reset is 5-10 minutes. They can work on it later. Just my opinion.

Micka Thickblood is bugged in Emhry Bay as well. This has been going on for a week now, funny at first to see people run around the building forever, but I want my completion award now. Please do a reset soon.

Cannot complete two map areas because of the missing NPCs on the Far Shiverpeaks server:

1st and most popular – Warmaster Yulia in Vigilant Hills! 3 days on a lunchbreak!
2nd – Fight the Quaggan Pirate in False Lake? Not sure, as the quest NPC is not there and Quaggan Pirate is always dead
3rd – Defeat Lionguard Mette at Stonescatter Wash – NPC is not there for 2 days, probably having fun with Warmaster Yulia in some tavern

Had an issue with Lost Child’s Sorrow NPC having “Disappeared” as well; I logged back in the next day to find a band of players had already engaged him and he was present.

Server: Ehmry Bay

Metrica province…first skill point you are getting when starting as asura….i from what i so many skill points are broken i think i will just stop playing for some time (until they fix npcs) or just give up on this game.

The Bayt fallahin skill point in malchor’s leap is still broken on the Anvil Rock server.

Several I continue to run into over the past few days on Fort Aspenwood server:

Iron Marches – Lake Carnifex – Sharky is missing but the Golem is there.
Metrica Province – Loch Jetz – Utcua was dead the other day and missing today.

I’m sure it has been suggested before but as a workaround until the root cause of all the bugged skill points is discovered and fixed, can’t some code be introduced which checks the status of the NPC on the server every 30 mins – 1 hour? If they are dead or missing, they are respawned. If they are there and working fine, no change?

Most of these broken or missing skill point things seem to carry across servers… It’s not a little single server incident. Something needs to be done. I have been unable to complete my zone for over a week, even after server reset nothing was fixed.

these NPCs seem to come back after a reboot, but reboots are no longer a nightly event, and then they seem to get re-bugged after a while until the next reboot. the best workaround i have found is to login during a busy time (evening), go to Lion’s Gate, get put on the overflow server, then choose to “Leave Queue” – now go back to the missing NPCs on the overflow server. so far, they have all been available on the overflow server – my guess is that they reboot the overflow server at least every day, so the hung NPCs get reset much more often. Arena Net – how about an option to move to the overflow server even when it’s not busy? Since it’s taking weeks to fix these issues, it would be nice to have the option of trying the overflow server to see if they are available there without waiting for prime time.

Skill challenge comes up, but Ximm does not appear.

Skill point in Queensdale (Shire of Beetletun) – Skill challenge is unable to be initiated.
