I purchased the Mad King Outfit from the Gem Store during the first Halloween: Shadow of the Mad King 2012 event. It has been well over a year since I’ve checked on this outfit, and after the update to the wardrobe system, I realised the outfit is gone. It is not in any of my characters’ invertory (nor is the Mad King scepter) nor is it in storage anywhere. It does not show up as a valid outfit in my Hero: Outfits window either, although my other two purchased outfits do show up (Fancy Winter Outfit and Witch’s Outfit). Another gamer I play with daily also noticed she is missing her Fancy Winter Outfit, and the scepter that goes with it. We purchased all three of these outfits together, and we have screenshots of both of us in the Winter Outfit for proof if needed.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? And if so, what was your resolution?

don’t worry, you haven’t lost the outfits, they are technically still on your characters, but you can’t access them, or see them. they are still being seen as equipped town clothes (which were disabled), but you can get them back.

just log in to the characters that you remember were wearing them and go to the Black Lion Trader (Armorsmith), there should be one by the trading post (especially in cities). the merchant will convert the outfits you have into that of the new system.

edit: at the Black Lion Trader (Armorsmith) click ‘What are town clothes?’, then ’I’d like to exchange my old town clothes’, then ’I’m ready. Upgrade all my town clothes’. you’ll end up with an outfit that you can double click to add to your wardrobe. you should also be given the toys they were holding (like the scepter).

I’m the other player Kojak.3928 is referring to. I have my Mad King Outfit and its scepter, but I’m missing my Fancy Winter Outfit and its scepter. Here a screencap of our toons wearing the Fancy Winter outfit at least. Unfortunately, we did not take screenshots of us in the Mad King Outfit.

Since you have checked all your characters, I would say file a ticket with support. I suspect, since it is a gem store item and there will be a record of it, they will probably replace it for you. (and, yes a similar thing happened to me with my wide rimmed glasses and they did replace them for me)

Many thanks nottsgman. Once I went through 3 or 4 characters, I finally found the one I remember wearing the Mad King Outfit, and yes it was given back by the Black Lion Trader [Armorsmith].
