Missing voice
Yep i came here to post this very thing, so I will add a confirmation to what Druid said.
~Surrender fiend and you will get an easy death
~I could promise you the same…but it would be a lie…
I noticed the same too. It happens with dialogues from the previous releases as well.
I’ve noticed my audio (in the instances) is often very low, compared to any other voiced audio. I’ve tried adjusting the sliders, but to no avail.
Happened to me too. Very disappointing, having to read every other line because the audio only works half the time.
This is a long-standing problem, affecting pretty much any NPC dialogue that has voiceover regardless of which story segment you’re in. Sometimes you can restore the audio by changing your camera angle (rotating around to find the “sweet spot”), but usually not. Complicating matters, often if you find the right camera angle for one NPC that was affected, suddenly you can’t hear one that you could hear before. It’s really irritating, and IIRC it started right around the same time that this bug got patched. There were never any audio issues before that. Ever since, I’ve had this exact maddening 3D audio positioning issue. Not that I’m all that stoked to hear Trahearne’s dull voice again, but it’s annoying to only hear partial conversations when you know the whole thing is there.
This just started happening to me with the most recent patch. Before everything was fine, now, i’m dreading have to replay everything to get the full effect just because the audio won’t work.
I’ve had this bug for ages and I hate it. It’s like they tried to adjust audio levels for 3d sound, but it doesn’t work at all. I wish I could just turn it off and hear npcs all at equal volume again regardless of whether I move away from them or have my camera angled towards them.
Yeah it’s the same with me. Just letting Anet know.
This problem went away when I set my audio quality slider to highest. The fastest setting seems to limit the number of simultaneous voices, so if two voices overlap then one of them will not be played resulting in a speech bubble only.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.

Works for me too! Thanks
