What is the issue? Were you expecting more Shards? Less? Didn’t want to salvage the Talisman?
The issue is that this is pvp reward and by salvaging it you get raid currency.

The only “issue” is that then Pvp’ers have access to ascended equipment, and ONLY that.
Magnetite shards alone help in no other way than buying ascended armor. I’m surprised you didn’t just shrugged it off and moved on with your life
