I am just wondering if Mistwrought Vault is bugged slighty. I did the jumping puzzle in all three boarder-lands, got all the key parts, managed to open the vault doors but I was only able to loot two of the chests.

Though I could open the vault door on ‘Anvil Rock’ (Red) boarder-lands I was unable to open the chest, despite having two parts of the key. However the guild member I was with opened the chest no trouble.

I tried relogging and that did not work.

I’ve just experienced this issue on the FA borderlands. Is this limited by account now? First character opened the chest as expected, second character cannot open chest and now has two useless keys in inventory.

Yeah, borderlands chests are per account now.

At least with spare keys you can open the chest first, then get keys for tomorrow, which is quicker than getting the keys and then opening the quest.

(Just ignore the fact it’s now 5+ times slower overall as you can only do it once per account.)

Just a note, I had not opened the chest on any other character. Others were opening the chest, just would not open for me despite having the keys and being able to open the door.

I’m having the same problem – A friend and I went thru the puzzle together.. he was able to open the door/chest, and I was only able to open the door (not the chest). Should I just wait 24 hours and try again? I’m hoping this will be fixed if not because I’d like the achievement. Thanks

Borderland chests are still per character. I run them daily with 3-4 toons on one account.

On Monday or Tuesday, I did the PART of the JP in the Ruby Sanctum, but had to log out, so only got the top half of the key. I went back on Thursday and got the bottom half of the key. I was able to unlock and enter the vault, but unable to unlock the Mistwrought chest. The “Unlock Chest” pop-up did appear, but nothing worked to open it. Not pressing “F”, not clicking it, nothing.

I thought maybe the first part of the key broke during the reset, so I jumped up and got it again, as I had not looted that chest yet that day. At that point, I had two top half pieces, even though they are (supposedly) unique.

I was still not able to unlock the chest. I figured it bugged out because of my first key/attempt, so I just destroyed all the key parts and left. I had no issue looting the chests in the Emerald or Sapphire sanctums, nor in EB.

Today I went through all the puzzles again. Again, no problems with opening the chests in EB, Emerald, and Sapphire. But in Ruby – with shiny new key parts both less than 10 minutes old – I could only enter the vault, but not loot the chest.

My husband tried it, and he had no issues. He got his key pieces, entered the vault, and looted the (Ruby) mistwrought chest without incident.

FYI — I only did this/tried this on one character, and did not do the JPs, let alone loot the borderlands chests, on any other characters.

Edit: We went back on different characters. We were both able to open the vault in the Ruby Sanctum, but could not unlock the chest. We decided to do the Emerald Sanctum. There, we were able to go straight into the vault and unlock the chest with the keys we got in the Ruby Sanctum. Opening the chest didn’t destroy our keys, so we destroyed them ourselves.
