Molten fractal bugs at boss room
bump, still bugged
Just had it occur a few minutes ago. Wiped on Molten Alliance crew after the tunnels if that’s any help.
This bug happened to my party today. We had to leave and lost all progress.
We tried wiping, and walking all the way to the entrance. That didn’t work.

This bug has existed since probably when the fractal was first released. To avoid it, you need to make sure Braham, Rox, and Frostbite are all alive and with you as you go through the tunnel with the walls of steam. Otherwise it’ll likely bug out on you and there’s no known way to fix it except starting all over.
Dear Anet,
It’d be nice to fix bugs like this. Because seven (!) months later, it still happens. And it’s still annoying.
In the future, try to keep NPCs out of everything since they keep bugging things.
I have never had this happen, however, we have always stood right before the gate until the npc’s are close, then we go in and wait for the npc’s to enter, which triggers the speech. It probably is related to them being too far, as said earlier. This is the case for everything, from story things, to dungeons, etc. That is one of the few fractals that has npc’s that remotely matter, so it’s not really surprising this would be noticed on it.
Dear Anet – Please fix this kittening bug, thanks babe.

They fixed this like three times but it keeps breaking :-/
As said in the prior post of mine (from a year ago) do not go in the weapon test area before Braham and Rox do, always make sure all the npc’s are alive before you go through the steam. Went in sometime after this, before they arrived, and it bugged it out. Always wait.

I don’t remember them actually fixing this particular issue. It’s a known issue easily prevented by having one party member waiting just after the last steam curtain, until Rox & Braham begin their dialogue. Everyone else can continue forward until just before the room. Wait for the dialogue to complete and enter the testing room.
Sure, ANet should fix it at some point, but it typically only affects people once until they learn the trick, so it’s probably really low on their priority list.
