Monsters are turning invulnerable when I kite them too well
I’ve noticed that as well, it is particularly annoying when you take into account the fact the ranger short bow designed for kiting (evade+swift, slow, stun/daze).
One skill challenge in Cursed Shore (last week) had such a short invulnerability/reset range that simply dodge-rolling would cause it to reset. I ended up having to wait for a friend to get there so that together, we could do enough damage to finish it off and survive “tanking” the damage. I /bug reported it, but don’t know if it was fixed or not.
I can understand having some leash range, but some of them are just too small, especially for mobile world event champions.
Same thing happens to me a lot in underwater combat with my mesmer while using the spear after using feigned surge.
This occurs when they have roamed too far from their initial spawn area. Its not a bug, its a game mechanic. There may be cases such as Sarisa’s Cursed Shore skill challenge that IS a bug, but thats a case by case basis.
Sometimes their natural Patrols will take them to the edge of their ‘vulnerability area’ and even kiting them a small bit will take them outside it, this also isn’t a bug, just poor routing for the monster.
I do a lot of solo and i have seen this on veteran monsters too. I if i’m kicking their butt they turn invulnerable, turn away, gain health an return to kill me since i can’t regain health because i’m still under the influence of battle.
I noticed that branded fish will occasionally swim away from me once they have their hp down to about half, become invuln for a period of time, and then return to attack me. Not sure if its the same thing as what you mentioned, but the fact that some mobs can become invuln is annoying in itself. It’s not even a skill, they are not blocking you, they’re just immune to damage for no apparent reason.

That’s not true at all, I’ve fought a champion troll in a cave with very little room to run around in and he resets. I circle around in the same area multiple times, and I can do this for over 10 minutes and then it resets following the same path.
Underwater monsters are turning invulnerable even when I DONT kite them.
This bug is really annoying, please fix this !!!
