Why isn’t the Mossman stacking on the poles exploit fixed yet? I shouldn’t be kicked from a party because I want to fight the boss the correct way and not stack for a boss fight. It is ridiculous. I should not be forced to exploit.

Granted, climbing up on a pole for a fight is kinda cheesy…however if you’re in a party or squad, then you’re entering into cooperative teamplay. If the majority of the party or squad wants to do stuff one way and you do not, then you’re essentially forcing everyone else to do things your way. I’ve been in parties and squads that do things using stacks and ones that are "YOLO"ing things. I adapt to what the party or squad wants. Instead of whining about it, why don’t you either ask the squad which way they plan on doing the fractal/mission/event/etc. (and leave if they plan on doing things in a way you don’t like) or just go solo it since you obviously don’t want to be in the team? If there were enough votes to kick you, obviously you’re the odd one out.

Prime example of ignoring the problem and sweeping it under the rug.

Because, fixing game is so 2015. Workarounds are all the rage now!

Yeah, because forcing people to play the way you want is fixing a problem.

I can see both sides: on the one hand, the OP shouldn’t be kicked because they don’t want to risk their account by using an exploit. On the other, as Cedar Dog says, it’s a team effort. People who want to do things a certain way have a social obligation to communicate that upfront so the rest of the team can decide to opt in or out.

Other than that, I am sure ANet will fix the loophole eventually, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. They certainly aren’t going to do it any sooner because a few groups /kick folks who don’t want to do it.

As a side note, it’s an insanely quick instance, cheezed or not; it’s nearly as quick to run it with a new (non-exploity) group as it is to protest the looophole here on the forums.

Yeah, because it’s better to advise to exploit rather than to call out on devs to fix this.

The advice given by CedarDog was to communicate your interests upfront rather than to wait until the end to find out the other four are planning on doing it differently. Only ANet gets to decide if it’s actually an exploit or not. In the meantime, each of us only gets decide for ourselves what we are comfortable doing.

Look, I agree with you that — at best — standing on the poles is cheezing the already-trivial battle and that ANet will almost certainly remove the option (eventually). What I don’t agree with is the certainty that the issue is urgent.

Similarly, I myself would never kick someone just because they didn’t want to risk their account using a potential exploit. At the same time, if I were the only party member who felt like that, I would choose to leave before insisting that the rest of the group do it “my” way.

All that stands, but the problem here isn’t that op doesn’t want to communicate or cooperate. Problem is even before the grouping up stage – it’s in the game. Players shouldn’t have discussions about this and this should be fixed just like the rest of fractals got fixed. It’s not urgent problem but it’s a problem.
Players should not be punished for wanting to play properly. Here player is punished for not exploiting and first reply to the thread is basically “It’s your fault you’re not exploiting with rest of your group”. Don’t you think that Anet should be called out for this and not OP?

I wasn’t forcing anyone to play my way. I was still just sitting on the ground next to the pole fighting him because he was targeting somebody who was on the pole. But they still insisted that I jump up there. It is just dumb that the meta has turned into a mindless zerg that can’t fight a boss the normal way. I agree that some boss fights can be tedious. And I do post “Scale 67 – Mossman (Fight normaly)” in my advert. So pugs have no excuse.

I don’t do that because I, well, have issues with jumping in general because of medical condition to my hands. I say that before we even enter fractals, and I have NEVER been kicked out of a group, on the contrary, people were always very nice and, for example, in the asura fractal they’ve always waited for me to make my way up. Was never able to jump on those poles and have always fought Mossman the normal way with no issues.

If you created the party and advertised as such, then yeah, the people who joined and wanted to stack shouldn’t have joined in the first place.
