Movement while sliding resets position
I’ve had the same thing myself several times today trying to complete puzzles – it’s most disconcerting doing the same fal four or five times over before the spinning stops. And assuming the following is the same thing, it can even get very silly; on one occasion I fell all the way to the bottom in the shaft potion of Troll’s End and lay dead for 30 seconds or so on the rocks at the bottom – and as soon as some kind passing soul rezzed me, zap, I was back up at the top ready for another go.
same issue it’s not just sliding but ‘falling’ from heights in general. I will fall from yay high and hit the ground and take no damage until i move forwards, and sometimes it will rubber band as well.
Noticed this in the WvW Borderlands JP. The ledges on the inclined cliffside with two oozes on top are affected by this, making them unusable and the lower half of the key unreachable if you don’t have a skill that can leap from top of the cliff. You can slide down to a ledge, but if you try to move or jump while on a ledge, it rubberbands you back on top of the cliff, and you slide back down to the ledge, or possibly into the water below. This affects all the three ledges equally.

It’s possible that the reason I didn’t see an issue with just falling was because my test was in the center of Rata Sum. That is, dead when hitting the ground, always. I should have thought to test with non-lethal falls as well.
Yep, I’ve been experiencing this issue since the patch, regardless of character and location.
Sliding down, taking falling damage at the bottom, and immediately I rubber-band back up to the starting location and fall down again and take falling damage again. Its a pretty unpleasant experience!
A few times I have not taken falling damage at the bottom (when I should have), and rubber-banded several times before finally taking falling damage and then was able to get out of that awful rubber-banding loop.
The rubber-banding seems to be triggered by attempting to move (run forward, etc.) after landing.
I’ve also noticed a delay sometimes in receiving falling damage (in situations where I don’t rubber-band, like where I jump down from the edge of something but don’t slide down).

I have the same problem, rubber-banding on slides until i die, usually.
