Is there a special way at all to report multi-botting (3+ characters, all with nearly identical names, botting in a specific area). I’ve encountered trios and quartets periodically and reported them one by one using the in-game report function, but today I encountered a group of 7 (I think…might have been even more) which are hard to report because they’re so tightly clustered (not to mention trying to keep track of which ones you’ve reported and which ones you haven’t).

It would be really nice to have some sort of “emergency – come here now to catch mutli-bots in action” type report ability — one that reports a small zone and would allow a responsive bot-tracking team to “send” someone to investigate.

Today’s example is on the Ehmry Bay server, Iron Marches region, right at the Herdsman’s Bastion PoI (south-east corner of the map). If a GM type were to come here any time in the next few hours they’d easily be able to witness and identify the 7+ ghost-slaying bots and do something about it fairly promptly (and kill multiple bots with minimal effort), hence my request for some sort of bot flag reporting function.

I second the multi-bot reporting system.
I found a group in frostgorge sound that was packed so tight I couldn’t even determine how many there were or what their names were (I did click on one and hit report). They were just sitting in a corner doing nothing and an enemy would spawn a little bit in front of them and they all would attack then stop…

The other thing I forgot to mention is that this multi-botting is generally far more annoying to the player than a single bot for a couple reasons:

If they’re botting a mob needed for a heart quest they can make it very hard for a “real” player to tag a mob fast enough after it spawns to even get credit for the kill, meaning you have to spend a lot longer trying to achieve the quest

If they’re farming an area where a dynamic quest spawns it’s potentially a huge problem because the spawn thinks the bots are active players in the area and thus scales up the event accordingly. Needless to say, the bots don’t care if they die (they just auto-respawn at the nearest waypoint and resume farming), they make no attempt to achieve the quest objective, and of course when the poor “real” player in the area is silly enough to try to complete the dynamic quest they get destroyed (because they’re trying to solo something that’s been scaled to include the bots). That’s cost me more than a few silver in armor repairs…
