I have noticed an odd bug relating to the screen resolution on my secondary monitor recently; namely, alt-tabbing out of GW2 (and GW1) resets it to a resolution it can’t handle, rendering it blank. This persists after closing the game. Resetting the resolution through the ‘Screen Resolution’ dialog in windows reverts the resolution setting, until I again alt-tab.
Setup & details:
I have a primary monitor set up as a three-screen eyefinity, 1920 vertical by 3600 horizontal. This works fine in-game, although I am unsure about the official-ness of support for Eyefinity. I do not use any crossfire. My secondary screen is set up in portrait mode, 1024 horizontal by 1280 vertical. The secondary screen is driven by the motherboard video output. When I alt-tab out of GW2 it sets the resolution of the secondary screen to 1920 vertical (i.e. to match the main monitor), keeping the horizontal. The screen cannot display a 1920 by 1024 resolution, meaning it goes blank. It effectively renders the screen unusable until I stop playing GW2 and reset the resolution. The computer is an intel i7, main graphics card is a 7970 at stock everything. This problem manifested around BWE2 in both GW1 and GW2.
I realize that this may not be an official bug (probably citing not-official eyefinity support), but I thought I would report it in the hope that it would, somehow, help Arenanet.
