You can only have buffs from one of the stat stacking sigils at a time. Otherwise you could have one weapon for each stat and switch between them to get up to 25 stacks of each and run around with huge buffs.

Right but even passive sigils arent recognized. Why give me an upgrade slot in a shield if its useless?
Yeah this is somewhat silly. They give you the option to dual wield and those weapons have upgrade slots. They should let each of those weapons sigils take effect. They do when they are the same sigil, though with slightly different behavior.
Two weapons with the same trait stacking sigil causes the stacks to occur faster (one for each sigil).
If they keep it this way, they should add a disclaimer to the tool tip.
I’ve experienced this now too, have Sigil of Bloodlust on my axe and sword, so I get 2 stacks of Power with every kill. And I have Sigil of Corruption on my Rifle, which brings 1 stack of Corruption on kill – BUT – only one kind of stacks will pile up, and it will be determined from the weapon that makes the first kill. Just now I killed 7 mobs with the Rifle, got 7 stacks of Corruption, but when I switch to axe and sword, it will not add stacks of Power from the Bloodlust Sigil. And vice versa. I will not benefit from Corruption Sigil AFTER killed the first mob with sword and axe and switch over to rifle. Until down I will be stuck with the effect applied by the first kill. This should indeed mentioned in tooltips, to avoid wasting money in useless sigils.
It has been confirmed and explained in the threads somewhere but I’m not going to find it. But, it has been explained that any sigil that give stacks of something will not double up with another stacking sigil. Sigils with chance on critical strike do stack but share the same Internal Cooldown. So you still have to wait just as long for the next possibility for the proc to occur. Sigil’s with stats stack multiplicative so 2 Sigil’s of Accuracy (5%) =/= 10% but instead more around 7%
EDIT: Forgot to mention, for some reason the Player stats sheet doesn’t accurately display Sigil’s stat give stats atm. So that %5 Crit won’t show up on your overall crit chance, but has been confirmed that it is present.
