WTF? Ok so I admit, I sell things a bit too fast (it’s cause I really don’t like listing stuff cause most of the time it ends up taking forever to sell, so I just sell said item as soon as it pops up on the interface), but how can the trading post get this so wrong? I shouldn’t have to wait a few seconds for each new item I put up to ‘refresh’ its price as such.

I thought ‘ok maybe it didn’t refresh the sell price from the previous item’… but there’s the thing… The previous item I sold wasn’t even 9c – it was an onyx lodestone for 92 silver and 98 copper – so I don’t know where that 9 copper per silk scrap figure came from – can Anet please explain this to me? Cause I’m trying to figure out how the heck this doggy doo hit the fan.

All I know is that my 48 silk scraps (worth 1 gold 46 silver) just sold for a total of 4 silver 32 copper. WOW.

Thanks Anet. Explanation please?

Edit: Actually nevermind. Don’t bother replying. Players will only troll me and Anet will probs just tell me to be more careful when selling. You’re right – next time I’ll wait a few seconds to make sure the TP doesn’t f up and give me next to nothing for my items.

Just a lesson to everyone else – careful when selling your stuff. The Trading Post may rob you of your money.

The fault is yours, depending on connection the tp sometimes takes a bit to fetch buy and sell prices. When it didn’t do that yet and you just hit “sell nao!” It sells for the minimum price, which is 7+1listing fee+1transaction fee=9c

To be fair to the OP, I have noticed this irritating problem with the TP since the patch; it first comes up with an incorrect price (which isn’t always 9c, I’ve seen it be all kinds of different values), and then if you wait long enough it refreshes to a different price. Sometimes the price it refreshes to is more, sometimes less, than the first price listed. It makes selling slow, confusing, and fraught with irritating mistakes, which sometimes are unavoidable as the TP can take a VERY long time to refresh to a different price.

I’ve had this happen once or twice since the TP change, as well; luckily it’s a rare thing for me. Yesterday I had a rare, level 80 staff I was going to sell on the TP. I sold something else first, then clicked on the staff, and immediately pressed “sell now”. A moment later I went “Wait, did that just say 3 silver?”. I go to check my transaction history, and yup. The price somehow was set to 3 silver as the highest buyer price, instead of the actual highest buyer price (around 50s). I was pretty annoyed.

Yes, I’ve had this happen when selling from my inventory and TP is loading up. The button actually will say “List this item” briefly. If you click it at that moment, it sells for the minimum like Megumi said. I’ve learned to not, what I call, “speed sell” from my inventory. And it’s all good.

OP, funny it happened to you with silk scraps because that’s exactly the item that I sold 30 of for 9c (or whatever) by mistake when I first encountered this situation a week ago.

All in all, I can deal with this little problem with all the TP advancements. TP has improved greatly overall imo.

Yes, it has improved a great deal, there’s no doubt about that. It just seems to trip over itself if you try to do things too fast. I think the problem is that it shouldn’t allow you to sell before it’s actually ready, it’s a classic problem that reminds me of my old widget-designing days lol

But you’re right Krypto, it’s still a ton better than the old TP
