My Charr ranger drops dead when going down a stairway like the one leading to the Wild Hunt finale outside of Hoelbrak, and paths such the way down from the Hare’s shrine. Does the system think I’ve fallen off the edge? Or is he having a heart attack? I need no armor repair, but I do have to use funds to go the the nearest Waypoint. Strange and annoying. Anyone else have this trouble? I hate to think I have to reroll my level 50. Cheers all!

Yes.
On my sylvari and norn I’ve experienced “sliding” off a not-very-steep hill. Most often in wayfarer foothills (might have been because I like playing there a lot).
The character will take a lot of damage “little by little” as it slides off the hill.

I noticed it on the wayfarer foothills heart quest where you become a snow leopard cub.

I submitted bug report from within the game (type /bug and a window will pop up)

The game engine is pretty aggressive about what it considers a damage-worthy fall at times. Have you ever skidded down a hill when out playing or whatever on purpose? Do that in GW and you’ll often just rack up damage.

It’s certainly not game-breaking, but it has curtailed my skiing tendencies.

I find the “Charr having a heart attack” explanation much more hilarious. XD
