Guild Wars 2

This problem has been going on for a while now, and I can’t figure out if it’s a bug, or something really obvious I’m missing. But when I approach a juvenile animal to charm it, the option does not appear, nor does pressing the “f” button do anything. I was able to charm for a while and had no touble, but it just suddenly happened and I have no idea how to fix it.

I’m a level 80 norn ranger.
I’m absolutely attempting to charm wild, juvenile animals that I have not previously charmed, but regardless if I target them or stand on top of them, it does not give me the option. Oddly enough, I am given the option to charm other players pets. Although pressing F does nothing. It’s the only time it prompts me to charm. What is happening???

I may have run into this as well. Also see the option to charm other rangers pets but no-go. It may be that you might already have some of the ones you can’t charm. Look in your pet listing to verify and report back later, especially if you can point to the map/area having issues. I have several minimum still to charm that I haven’t bothered working on to fill it out. I’ll have to google areas for pet charming to see where I need to go. Smokescale is one I haven’t tried but don’t know where. I got the mini dragon/wyvern one though and might have had it before I went after it w/friend lol.

The ‘Charm’ prompt when near other Rangers’ pets has been around since launch. I am not sure what triggers it, but since it often happens near Waypoints, Portals, etc., it may be when the pet loads in before the ‘owner’ does, and seems ‘uncharmed’ to the game.

Probably not very high on the ‘fixing’ list, if on it at all.

As to other pets, have you tried a -repair of the client, in case of corrupted file(s)? Contacted the CS Team to discuss the issue?
