It should not be possible to get nothing in return. I put 4 identical Masterwork level 80 “Soldier’s Field Guide” (46 Power, 33 Toughness/Vitality) and got nothing in return.

I think it’s known already. Throwing 4 masterwork trinkets(amulets, accessories and rings) of any level in the mystic forge will return nothing.

this happens to me.. weird thing is that it says it matches something and will allow you tk proceed with the process..
