The problem seems to by that the game assumes my camera position is where my characters ears are, so if I swing my camera around it cuts off character audio suddenly. Unfortunately this means I have to zoom in stand close and not move my camera as all in order to receive clear audio.

As you can assume this is not possible in combat when multiple characters are talking as you have to move your character and defend yourself. The audio softening and getting cut off makes it nearly impossible to understand what npc’s are talking about

My system has not changed, other games audio happen to be fine and I never used to have this problem with Guild Wars 2, so I assume the audio engine has changed recently in the game.

I do not expect and instant fix, but some suggested work around would be nice if anyone has any.

You describe the problem that I’m having with the audio exactly. It would be nice just to have someone acknowledge that they’ll look into it.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve solve this problem on my computer. For some reason my computers sound settings got switched from plain 2 speaker stereo to 7.1 surround sound. I simply switched it to stereo and my problems seemed solved. Note that these are not in game settings, they’re settings on your computer system that you can usually access from the little speaker icon in the system tray.

I hope this helps someone else.
